This sentence got me thinking, I wonder if someone could port OpenOffice (link) to the new device. The touch-screen is perfect for simulating a mouse, and with a built-in keyboard, you could easily edit documents on it.
I'm loving the D-Pad design in the second mock-up in jmetal88's post. It can hit diagonals, and it doesn't look like it'd go against any D-Pad patent considering it's a circle and not a plus-shape. ;)
I've flipped through most of this thread, and man am I ever excited for the [currently-unnamed-Linux-handheld-gaming-device]. :D
Since it isn't finalized yet though, I thought I'd throw some suggestions out there:

Hmm... this kinda worries me. I'd rather do away with the stick entirely with it's dead-zone and all. I hope Gamepark Holdings is listening when I say: nothing is more precise than a true D-pad!
I think my jaw broke after hitting the floor so hard.
Seriously, thanks for going all out fixing up Gpfce. Looks like the complaints about NES emulation on the GP2X may soon come to an end. :D
Thanks Micket! I've got a ton of FLACs on my external hard drive. I'll be using this for sure. :)

Thanks Micket! Oldplay is my favorite media player on the '2X. :)
I know beggars can't be choosers, but do you think you'll be adding PSF support at some point in the future? Also USF and GSF support would be nice. If these formats were added, Oldplay would be perfect.
Hey zod
I really appreciate all that you're doing for the GP2X scene. I usually only check the News section, which has been really slow as of late. Checking here though, gave me reason to get excited over the 2X again. :)
Wow... thanks for adding it to the list! I tried it, and it plays flawlessly as far as I can tell. The only problem I've experienced is occasionally the audio hiccups, but it's nothing major.
