An ambient light sensor sounds unnecessary/excessive. It's usually very easy to adjust the brightness of a screen manually, and the truth is, I'd rather adjust brightness myself than have a sensor determining such a thing.

[EDIT:] Just noticed the Pandora in the picture is running the NeoGeo game Windjammers! I love that game.
I agree... this would make for a brilliant port. The system requirements are very low; Pandora could definitely handle it. I guess the DirectX part might pose a bit of a challenge though.
