    can't install espeak...

I'm reviving this thread because I upgraded to Super Zaxxon 1.54 (had to do a clean install since the updater screwed up), and now the 1st of the two commands required to install espeak hangs forever (I let it sit for more than an hour). Fremon, can you update your commands, and perhaps give a...

    Release Navit

So much for that. I just tried installing espeak using the above commands. The first one just hangs. It turns out that gpsd is not necessary for Navit. The xml file needs to be edited, but it will work fine without gpsd. espeak is still necessary though.

    Release Navit

I just had to re-install the OS on my Pandora since the upgrade failed. Needless to say, it wiped out my GPS setup. I'm trying to follow this wiki again http://pandorawiki.org/GPS#Bluetooth_GPS but it is out of date. Specifically, gpsd and espeak are not in the pandora repository, so the...

SuperZaxxon v.54 Final has been released!

Someone has a weird idea of how to write a user interface. The instructions were:  Insert the SD Card into the left slot. Keep R (shoulder) pressed while switching on your Pandora and select "Boot from SD1" I had the pointer on "Boot from SD1" I hit enter. Nothing happened. I hit enter again...

SuperZaxxon v.54 Final has been released!

I ran the updater 3 times. rebooted to find both WIFI and BlueTooth missing from the selector. I am currenly trying the enable on boot option to try and recover. Result is a failure. Still missing the option to enable WIFI or BlueTooth. Tried several times. I guess it is now time to re-flash.

    Release Navit

This will help, Thanks. Unfortunately this will do nothing for when I'm stopped. The timeout feature does not appear to work. Moving the map or zooming in or out, it immediatly rescales back to tracking mode with no delay. One has to manually turn off autozoom to be able to pan around the map.

SuperZaxxon v.54 Final has been released!

Please clerify this step. What do you mean by "Stop it and restart it"? Ctl-C and restart the upgrade? ctl-Z then FG? Or something else I'm not familiar with?

Correct procedure for removing SD cards?

To be clear. my question does not involve USB at all. I wish to be able to remove an SD card from my Pandora after normal use when I have no PNDs running from that particular SD card. If I select unmount, it fails. So far the only safe way to remove an SD card from my pandora, is to first...

Correct procedure for removing SD cards?

When right clicking on the desktop icon, the menu items are: Open                          (not what I want to do) Unmount Volume        (fails) Properties...               (not particularly usefull here) Applications               (Also no usefull here) There is no "Eject" option.

Correct procedure for removing SD cards?

So, it appears the answer I'm getting is that I must turn my Pandora off before removing SD cards since the "unmount" option does not work.

Correct procedure for removing SD cards?

If I try and unmount the SD cards, this operation fails saying they are in use, even though I am not running any of the PNDs on the disk. What is the proper procedure for removing an SD card? I hope I don't need to shut down my pandora to do so.

    Release Navit

Has anyone figured out how to adjust the zoom level in autozoom? It always seems to be zoomed in closer than I would like. I took a look in the XML file, but all I found was how to disable & enable autozoom.

    Release Navit

Unfortunately, this is the default state of the xml file when you first install Navit. It certainly gives the impression that Navit is broken. The 1st thing you need to do is get a map and put it in the correct place on your memory card. (this was discussed early in this thread) The next thing...

GCW Zero - Open Source Gaming Handheld

Most of the games on the Atari consoles were by third parties, and nearly all of the games for the Amiga were by third parties. I hope they get their monies worth out of an investment like that.

    Release Navit

Follow="1" did not work, or perhaps I did not put it in the correct place. I put it in the line where I enable the GTK gui. I then switched to the internal gui, but I did not have a follow there, and the display still only updated when the current location was off screen. I have added the...

    Release Navit

I had to install vim-syntax to make the xml file readable. I have successfully enabled the zoom in & zoom out buttons (the lack of which was the primary reason I was using the desktop gui). Now I will finally be able to try out the built in GUI and the 3D view. I added the follow="1" line...

    vim missing syntax.vim

I tried enabling syntax highlighting on vim, but I get the error message that /usr/share/vim/vim72/syntax/syntax.vim is missing. Is this in a separate package? of so, how do I install it? Never mind "sudo opkg list vim*" followed by "sudo opkg install vim-syntax" got me what I needed.

    Release Navit

I'd very much like to see how you got the OSD working. I had to switch to the desktop gui, but that does not work very well when driving. It won't update the display until the car moves off the visible map, and the faster you drive, the closer it zooms in (should be the opposite if not...
