I don't mind the look. Though the rounded corners Eolair proposed did sorta differentiate this from the DS and maybe even more pocket friendly. My thoughts: -Those of you saying "I'm not buying now!" are idiots. Go away. Seriously, wtf? You were all drooling over the specs and now it's the...

QWERTY is a standard. It's used practically everywhere(with some exceptions). The Craig3X GameBri-k Express is not a platform for a Worldwide Keyboard Conversion Movement(looking at you, Mingo). You can keep your idealism, I'll keep my keyboard I know how to type with. Not every standard out...

Still damn nice and an excellent example of what answer homebrew awaits:) And don't apologize for evolutionated. I really meant it when I expressed how awesome a word that was :) I actually used it today;)

AltGr or AltChar are only used to bring out characters that are tied to existing alphabetical keys. When I want to type my name (Réal), I type R[alt+0233]al. AltGr(or AltChr or whatever language your keyboard is in) is nothing more then an extra "shift" key for a specific language. We have...

(Look, see I don't have to quote the whole thing, just the relevant text. Neat, huh?) Alt has always been used to select special characters. That also hasn't stopped it for being used for other things. No program worth its salt uses Alt+#key for a shortcut as keyboard controllers have that...

My name has a special character in it and I don't mind standard roman character qwerty keyboards, solely because I use the alt key. Still better then the alternative and there is simply no way to accommodate every fancy character a language saw fit to shove into it.

Quick fix for icon scarcity: make the ribbons on each end scrollable up and or down. Use an XML system for deciding how the base elements are laid out to set up your own GUI and even possibly create additional ribbons if you don`t like the wasted space.

I ain't a coder or emu-genie like Squidge, but I'll try my best:) Saturn is a challenge primarily due to the strange way it was constructed in the first place. SEGA pretty much decided to seemingly throw in a new CPU for every operation the system did or may have possibly done. As result, it...

If anyone could ever 'etch' something into a SQL table through sheer repetition, you could probably see through the hole in the server rack this forum is hosted on courtesy of our friend DaveC and his impassioned pleas for vertical game functionality;)

Even as farked up as the current copyright and patent systems are, you can't sue over the look and feel of a GUI. Hence why Apple can't stem the flood of i(mpractical)Phone knock offs.

OMars: See XBox Live UI. Personally, I would avoid as much clutter as possible on the screen. Remember that this will be a tiny screen a few feet away from your face, possibly moving about if you're within a transit vehicle. Big icons with easy navigation. The Live-like blade system works...

A good brainstorming on some 'best practices' (such as file locations et al.)would probably be a good idea. The developers would be allowed to develop their app the way they see fit but would have an edge on how to get things to work ultra-smooth-like with the rest. Linux has something of the...
