    Dragonbox Pyra - Spammer initiated

    And if you do some clever math fuckery... 24 - 16 = 8 2 - 4 + 6 - 1 = 3 DRAGONBOX PHOENIX CONFIRMED

Nice photoshop, dude. What sort of weirdo would put Sonic into an NES Pipe Collection? That's heresy, I tell you. Heresy! Anyway... to get it back on topic... I guess there's not much to do but wait and see news of the RAM results. IIRC that's the only major issue left to be worked on, and the...

I'm pretty sure you're seeing things, dude. It's a Nintendo pipe collection. Why would Sonic be there? o_O Personally I'd rather have animated PNGs (hell, I've made a few myself), but for some reason, those have just never caught on, likely due to the APNG vs. MNG debacle. It's kind of crazy...

Before 1985? Wrong, sir, most of these are after 1985. Also, Sonic? In an NES pipe collection? I think you're seeing things... That seems to be it. It's scaling it up to 96x96, then converting it to JPG, which obviously destroys the animation. I'll see if I can fix it, but that will take a bit.

Well mine DOES animate, just... not on this forum, I guess the forum software isn't set to allow regular members to use animated GIFs as avatars, presumably to save forum bandwidth and/or database size (though allowing for an externally linked one solves that for the most part). The full one...

C'est dommage. Also, I'd like to take a moment I fucking love Wally's avatar. It's lame, it's stupid, and I love it to bits. (Now if only my GIF animated too. :()

Simple: The counter-example is that the device supports up to 8 GB of RAM. Full stop. This isn't "the device can't support it and we're trying to hack it to do such." This isn't some kind of weird OS screwing that they have to do to make it support the device. If the device supports 8 GB of RAM...

What programming language should I use

Come on, guys. We all know the best programing language on the Pyra will be Brainfuck. How can you beat a "Hello World" program of:++++++++[>++++[>++>+++>+++>+<<<<-]>+>+>->>+[<]<-]>>.>---.+++++++..+++.>>.<-.<.+++.------.--------.>>+.>++. Only competition, IMO, would be LOLCODE. HAI 1.0 CAN...

Well, my grandfather on dad's side looked exactly like Santa, so sure, I guess. There'd better be several hundred dollars worth of cookies and milk though. Jesus Christ, enough with the "it can't process more than 2 GB of RAM efficiently" already. This was debunked, and you're doing nothing but...

Unfortunately, where I live, -20°C might well be my daytime HIGH once windchill is accounted for around February. There's a period of approximately two weeks where our average high is below 0°C, and winter here, for all intents and purposes, can run from Mid-November to Mid-March, or even into...

Yes, and that's the trickier question to answer. Cortex-A15s do support LPAE. Virtual address space, however, remains 32-bit. So while it can use more RAM than 4 GB, an individual process still caps at 4 GB of space. My guess would be that 3-3.5 GB would thus be the practical limit it could...

Right, but I was saying that there was a 64-bit version of Minecraft, so if a 64-bit CPU comes out eventually for the Pyra, it'd be fully possible for it to run the 64-bit version of Minecraft. (Maybe a Cortex-A57? Granted, we'd probably have to move away from OMAP for those... there hasn't...

Except it can't, because CPU + RAM is on its own board. Replacing the RAM means replacing the board, which if we're going to do that is going to be silly to just double the RAM and keep the processor. These aren't your regular desktop RAM sticks or even laptop-style SODIMMs. This device is too...

Uhh... making it out to sound like "Hey, it's the community's fault, great job holding it up guys, if only you would've picked 2GB this would've been easier" is pretty rude of you. ~70% of the community wants those 4 GB boards; EvilDragon and company are doing their best to bring it to us, and...

But how expensive would that be? If 10x the insulation performance comes with 10x the cost, then it's not exactly worth it.

Magnesium + water + high temperatures = you're gonna have a bad time. Anyone who's taken a basic chemistry class knows that. And while, obviously, you've got bigger things to worry about if your Pyra gets wet, you definitely don't want some magnesium parts of it happening to go up in flames if...

IIRC they solved it by bumping the voltage up a bit (to 1.39V). That presumably will let it be stable enough (as it's still within tolerance/spec) while they potentially look into whatever else it could be, and presumably if they find a way to fix it, they can then bump it back down to 1.35V.

    Weekly Pyra Preorder Stats

I would be that Tuesday afternoon US 4G Unit order. :) (Currently) Unit #1091, US 4G 4GB #231. I've followed Pyra for years (I'm a Pandora owner as well), and I was weighing Pyra against a PC upgrade (the core of my PC is from 2011 - it's time) and a monitor upgrade as well (that's even older -...
