    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

"How it's Made" is an awesome way to lose hours of your life at a time without you even noticing it.

It could also be engine bugs - there's a well-known bug where shots miss where they shouldn't. ZDoom (and thus, GZDoom) probably fixed this bug however, so if that's not what you mean, I'm not sure what sorts of "shots" are missing. It is possible you may gain some info by looking into the...

GZDoom as a standalone build. I noticed ptitSeb actually already has an upload with the Brutal Doom mod. Thing is, GZDoom can handle so much more - and not just that, both the mod (now V21) and the version of GZDoom (dunno what build is on the repo, probably a 2.X build) are old now, especially...

    Unofficial Openpandora/pyra Minecraft Server

Interesting. I haven't played a ton of Minecraft online, so it might be fun, although I definitely need to fix some things first. (SEUS kills my PC due to its nearly 7 year-old CPU, but a new PC build is on the agenda sometime in roughly the next six months... hopefully sooner.) Minecraft...

    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

The main reason for this (both in China and Japan) is that the character for "Death" (死) and the character for "Four" (四) can both be pronounced the same way - "Shi" in Japanese and "Si" in Chinese. In both cultures, the number four is thus generally considered bad luck and avoided. It's why in...

    Let's move the moulds!

Could be like some of those computers. I know I saw a bluetooth keyboard that had a slot you could put your phone/tablet in to type on that. For something truly portable it'd probably need something like that, if not a "hard" connector that would let you hook a keyboard into it and keep them...

    Let's move the moulds!

Well yeah, this isn't quite something where it's the size of your thumbnail. This sort of thing is generally more intended for something laptop or home media PC-sized. That said, that's not to say it can't fit in something more portable. And while it's not all in a single die, it is a CPU + GPU...

    Let's move the moulds!

Yeah, with Christmas right around the corner, you may need your Pyra to be part of an elaborate boobytrapped house, to torch the scalps of some dudes named Harry and Marv. In all seriousness, I'm sure it will be about as warm as a smartphone under heavier use. If anything, maybe even slightly...

    Let's move the moulds!

Where I live, where winters can be -20C with the temperature and that's before you even begin to whiff at the windchill, something that'd warm up my hands to 50C would be a godsend. Right now, for example, a direct shot of Arctic air just hit us. By the time the sun is rising tomorrow...

    Let's move the moulds!

I made much the same point recently myself, and as I said at the time, this could be a blessing in disguise. Either way, it's not the end of the world in Pyra land. Yes, the feature creep (as some call it) does mean that the design didn't hold up when 4 GB of RAM became an option. But seeing as...

    Let's move the moulds!

I doubt this would kill the Pyra, since the issue isn't "it's not working period," it's that the design that was good enough for 2 GB isn't robust enough for 4 GB. They'll tweak it, and it'll work out just fine. Just might take a bit longer.

    Let's move the moulds!

It's probably changed due to the flurry of new adds and cancellations, but it was 1191. Preordered on August 22nd. I'd been eyeballing it for awhile, but saving up a spare $800 or so isn't exactly a small ordeal, not to mention a few other things came out (a GPU I wanted, the Nintendo Switch)...

Forget that. I know the ultimate test for the Pyra cases.

    The tale of the cases

Considering that in the 1960s this was Space-Age technology and nowadays it's old hat, pretty sure it wouldn't cost nearly that much. It would still cost some, though. The closest modern analogue would be something you're probably quite familiar with if you're well-versed with building PCs - a...

    The tale of the cases

Well of course if there's infinite space for a cooler, eventually you can make any CPU not throttle, with the main limits being current draw (because the faster you overclock, the higher voltage must be upped for stability). Kind of like how if we returned to hard drives platters the size of...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Just because it's similar-looking parts doesn't mean pin-compatible. Intel just released their Coffee Lake processors, which have the same number of pins and fit into the same socket as the older Kaby Lake ones. They're not pin compatible, because some of the pins that had been reserved became...
