    It could be we're there!

To be blunt, I'd rather ED work on getting the thing finished, assembled, and shipped. A prettier image can wait until after us preorders get their Pyras.

@Silent-Hunter Not sure why you'd want a 2 GB board then. I'd hang on for the 4 GB if possible. Simulations show it should be fixed, so all that should be left is producing a new board and testing it.

I would prefer a tantalum capacitor, but as there was a good source that says it is ethically sourcing that tantalum, I also see no reason why that shouldn't be pursued. And I'm sure it's not the only one, either. Not all tantalum capacitors are made from conflict materials, and we do have to...

Derp. That's what happens when you wake up for work at 5:45 AM, kids. For some reason I thought the memory was on the mainboard. In that case, yeah, it's a lot more futureproofed. Well, short of stuff like not being able to take advances in Wi-Fi tech or native USB Type-C or whatever, but the...

    Finalizing the PCBs

That's the smart option. What I'm more concerned about is the fact that any new CPU upgrade is going to be a fairly different CPU/SoC. OMAP5 is already several years old and TI clearly isn't going to continue the line. Not to mention a new SoC will have new memory demands, new driver demands...

Nah, do gallium. I hear gallium is amazing with heat when combined with an aluminum heatsink, especially if you scuff up the aluminum a bit first. Something about increasing the surface area... Probably better cooling. :)

    Pandora on the eevblog?!

Based on the tenor of that quote, it's fairly safe to say whoever left it wasn't sure if their information was accurate - claiming preorders "maybe still open" (they definitely are) and the ship date of 2017 (not happening, but almost certainly happening not too far off, with mold mass...
