Hey alex.... this is the real world. Do you think that a game reviewer is going to say "This is a homebrew game so I can only applaud their efforts despite some minor hiccups in game play." No they're going to be straight up and honest. And if the person who "poured their heart and soul" into it...
Who knows, but if he's not willing to put in the time to learn and do it how committed can he be to the idea? If he's not committed to his own idea why would/should others commit to it, etc.
This is open source, the joys of being able to do it yourself (or atleast try to) are ours for the taking.
LMAO. Get your eyes checked man, and learn to READ. I wanted to know if there would be enough spares to cover the defectives. I'll even quote part of myself below.
In NO WHERE in this my posts did a whine or EVER indicate that I really cared. I only WANTED TO KNOW if there was a backup plan...
Check out this post http://igorsk.blogspot.com/2007/12/mobipocket-books-on-kindle.html which should have what you need.
My converter takes text files and makes them .mobi files. It's fairly simplistic, but lets me set the title and author information (which is all i really needed) it also...

So this is really a question to the core team.... Are enough extras being produced to cover defective units? (There are always defects)
Because if my pre-order comes in dead/defective and I have to wait for the second batch to get a replacement I'll be positively murderous.... and I'm sure that...
I'll be coding but not my own games, just occasional patches.
I'll just bring over my kindle book converter (just needs python and bash) so I grab new books on the go without needing my laptop to get them properly converted.
I've been waiting for this type of handheld since I first read about the GP32 way back in the day. It has the right power and battery life to do everything I need. Full speed FF7/FF8 web browsing and great for movies.
Craig, you got this thing exactly right. Thanks for the vision dude. And do...
Enlightenment 17
I'd really like to see Enlightenment 17 on here. It's in constant dev, but raster does killer work and it's pretty darn reliable as well.
Really though Debian(based) with a lightweight manager (windowmaker, ion, ratpoison, matchbox) will be fine.
