Another factor to consider: even if you can find some enterprising XDA hacker to get it mostly working, there is no way it will be legal. Microsoft don't licence WM to end users.
You would also kind of be lobotomising the "Ultra Mobile Personal Computer" aspect of the Pandora too. Sure, it...
off the top of my head:
1) Changes or improvements made by Canonical benefit Ubuntu only - they don't contribute any code to upstream projects. Watch this video for all the gory details. This is a legitimate concern, and many feel it goes against the spirit of open source, if not the letter...
I've been following this thread with interest, but it's pretty much devolved into random conjecture and opinion. About the only thing known for sure about batch two WRT ordered parts/shipping dates seems to be that no direct and unambiguous statements have been made.
The only "official"...
Pandora-UQM is a must.
If you can get your hands on the DOS version of Bullfrog's Syndicate that would be just be insane. It runs like crap with DOSBox's default settings, but this site has conf files that work great on PC - hopefully Pandora too!
This brings up an interesting point. To handle speeds over C6 the Pandora would have to have been built with a "hi-speed" I/F bus, usually only found in high-end camcorders and such like (C6 can handle HD video already, so it's only the really exotic stuff needs/uses anything higher).
I...
I'm no hardware guy, but I would have said that due to USB polling there is zero difference between a mounted and unmounted stick in terms of power drain (this is changing with USB3, but we are not there yet).
SD was designed for battery-powered devices, so only draws power during actual...
Welcome to the waiting list!
Similar thread was discussed the other day.
TL;DR email sales@openpandora.org for confirmation.
Does come with this caveat - "It takes a while to get a response, as they have a massive email queue."
Looks like a custom minecraft client for Android is progressing along nicely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-9K8ZQTOMY. Performance actually looks pretty decent.
I know Pandora is very different, but it is proof of concept that minecraft CAN run on handhelds. :)
I was thinking that the PND would be updated periodically rather then generated on demand, so the difference is only one more step - but I digress...
The idea behind the PND approach was to make a recommendation the app store maintainers could implement with minimum development and fuss...
Thinking about this some more, the pandora app store has a perfectly good database of available packages. It also has a way to distribute PND files by http.
If you just combine what is already there, you could distribute a PND containing a dump of the database (or an extract of it) on the app...
Cool, I was unaware if it's existence! Obviously it would be better to extend the existing functionality of SUPA then to re-invent the wheel.
Although I'm not thrilled with the way the package metadata is gathered. It works as a proof of concept, but an official list from apps.open-pandora.org...
I think you would be better off writing a new package manager from scratch rather then modifying an existing one. Apt has WAY more functionality then you would ever need for managing PND packages. A huge amount logic in most package managers is dedicated to checking and satisfying dependencies -...
