    SWAP - enable or not

assuming he has a 1 Gbps pci network connection, "cloud swap" should provide a nice speed boost for a EDO RAM powered pentium

Dual PS/PS2 Controller to USB 2.0 PC Joystick Adapter

from the comments on the product page: Works under Ubuntu 10.04 as a normal joystick controller. <= Linux support!!! Assuming the manufacturer didn't take to much liberty with the usb2 logo, i'd say yes this will work besides it's less then 5 dollars. :P take the risk B)

    games developement

cold answer: by taking so long. my impressions: first minutes: whatever, thats 3 (verry nice looking) models onscreen, looks like an EVE online ripoff later: OMG WTF landing on the planet, from orbit??? dynamic loading??? procedural universe??? better answer: *procedural generation*...

    Hardware...

If my memory serves me well, most of us ordered and payed for a 128MB ram omap3 device. In the mean time my order magically upgraded to 256MB. now, that i think about it, my choice to preorder *now* (with a chance i have to wait 2 years) would be based on the $/€ exchange rate I basically...

    SWAP - enable or not

@pol I voted, I am going to dedicate an old 256 or 512 mb SD card to swap. Just to have it in my *bag of SD cards* that doesn't mean I will dedicate SD-Slot2 to swap. The pandora is meant to run without swap, I'll only use it whilst pretending my pandora is a 1980's unix super computer...

Any Chance Of Any/All Of These?

Could be ported? Yes Without to much hassle? maybe In 2 months © somebody will scream "I've got JACK working without latency on my pandora" Then watch the stream of audio related PND's being released on the appstore. I recommend going to gp32x.de and start to ask difficult questions...

    SWAP - enable or not

Unfortunately, discussing swap is about as effective as predicting the weather by using a wet finger and looking at the sky. The good news is: this method is very good at determining if you need an umbrella in the next hour. I can think of 2 good reasons to have a swap SD card: Tab...

Flashing failure, now the board would not power up!

If i read all these commands right, this produces a very simple MBR, ie => we are forcing an SD card to be recognized as an old/simple DOS-era hard disk. Linux in general, has thrown (default) DOS compatibility out the window in favor of compatibly with everything else (large harddisks)? I...

Fresh news from the board production (2010-10-20)

prolly some product that has more or less the same chips as the pandora, so they don't have to reconfigure the machine from scratch between runs. Or they ran out of green board and used some red?

    who wants a 1nub pandora

I would have jumped on a onenubber in september (started a thread myself a while ago, to gauge interest in building some more *oldnubbers*) right now there's hope again with better nubs greenlighted for production besides i guessed with some info from the german boards that i'll have one of...

    Suggested format for (big) SDHC?

hmz, this reply is getting long... all opinions derived from years of fiddling. Are you *shure* about that, that sounds awful lot like windows 98? i have several usb devices with multiple partitions, they all show up just fine in windows (NT 5 or 6). In NT5 or older they do have to be...

Running openPandora OS on a VirtualBox?

Seeing how the XFCE part works is a simple as booting a laptop from a Xubuntu CD http://www.xubuntu.org/ Almost every PND is based on open source linux software and can be found with "Synaptic package manager" so you can try that software too A netbook with an USB gamepad and Xubuntu...

    WINE supports ARM

Building and running WINE on ARM has always worked. The only real application for this is like WizardStan said, combined with QEMU. (or open source win32 apps that use cygwin to build) The only thing that changed is: from now on this is officially supported where before it was not.

    Old nubs and refurbished boards

I understood this: of the first 400 boards, with untested nubs, 150-200 boards had a faulty nub, they were sold as one-nubbers (indeed much more then i thought) They have 100 boards that were sold as working units, meaning 2 working nubs, but were RMAed for nub reasons, those boards are...

    Old nubs and refurbished boards

150? I was under the impression that one-nubbers were built from the untested nubs and that it was at most 20-30 units. Unfortunatly they were sold out before i convinced myself i wanted one. I assumed all tested nub units worked when they where assembled, but they stopped producing them...
