    Battery Drain

we'll agree to disagree on this point then, i'd like all my electronics to have a real kill switch. can't cost more then a couple of cents for an extra feature.

    Battery Drain

not using power when i just told it to be off i dare to bet if you walk thru my house with a power meter, you'd find i am wasting 50 watts 24h/day on devices i can't shut down without unplugging. electricity is expensive yes i did once step on my extensioncord power switch once, during an...

    Untechnical mother needs help!

I keep expecting a youtube video of craig in a santa clause suit sitting on his roof, telling us he got really drunk last night and built 2000 pandora's

    Battery Drain

Did you ever own a desktop computer, with a physical power switch on the AT(X) power supply? off == means really off my current desktop doesn't have such a switch, the motherboard also isn't off (an smd led is still shining) but the motherboard does have a button battery, to keep the RTC and...

    Developing OGRE aps on linux

I am now happily running Ubuntu 8.04 with fglrx 9.3 performance is depending on sample 4x to 7x better then Ubuntu 10.10 with the open source driver and best of all, all samples run without visual artifacts <= this was what made me so pissed off I've built ogre from source because the Ogre...

    Battery Drain

i am probably just thinking to "euro-green" and yes, deep standby is really consumer friendly but, "just really completely off" without removing the battery sounds like a good idea. so your battery is good to go, 2 months later when you want to use it if i don't use the switch on my...

    Developing OGRE aps on linux

specs of my favorite dev laptop: Turion 2.0 Ghz 2 GB ram Radeon X200M ubuntu 10.10 with open source drivers the ogre samples struggle to keep 20FPS and many show artifacts. fu..... shit feels like intel graphics! i am sorry intel, your drivers don't show artifacts. apparently the...

    Android On The Pandora

Getting laid more often is always a nice thing, but it's more of a hacker-culture thingie. People posting they want it, exert some sort of social pressure/request to make it happen. The people that can make it happen are still frustrated by the current os (ancient kernel, no package repo)...

    Is this a faulty unit?

weird, first time i read about it. this is not supposed to happen, try to write out the steps to reproduce it. maybe someone here can try to shock himself on another pandora  discharge/wifi/time are know problems much info can be found on these forums and on gp32x.de the...

    ISO

the above solution is only usefull for data disks dvd-movie images and cd's with audio tracks wont work (as expected) http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/ is the equivalent of deamon tools => add's a virtual dvd-rom device to kernel getting it working on the pandora is a whole different...

Release xboxdrv (support for xbox and xbox 360 wired and wireless controllers)

List of stupid bugs you should try to rule out by looking at the source. 1) game only supports one controller, finds /dev/input/js0 and quits function 2) game only looks for /dev/input/js? devices and udev named it differently => postings above suggests that xbox controller is called...

    Android On The Pandora

I agree with most android naysayers here, i'll never use it on my panda myself. But let me try adding something productive to this thread. disclaimer: as a programmer my definition of the verb *working* does not conform to the views of consumers. And i am typing this out from memory, so no...

    Quake 3 - Worth doing?

I could be wrong, but i think most quake gl es *ports* use a library that implements a GL 1.4 fixed function pipeline over gl es 1.1 so quake is still running plain old gl like it has always done, nobody ever really converted it to gl es like i said i could be wrong about that. the license...

    SWAP - enable or not

for 32-bit: if i know enough C++, i think this would return false when you request the 4 billionth int (minus something for overhead), then properly exit the app. a modern x86 machine should handle this quite well. for 64-bit: should be fun EDIT: ninja'd

    SWAP - enable or not

As a programmer i know it would *work* (EDIT: rember, in programmereese, working means "doesn't segfault") now i want to grab a couple of beers and try it.

    SWAP - enable or not

it's a bad idea because of latency, hence my pentium 1 remark, SD card or nand would always be superior on the pandora if however, you have extremely fast networking, 10Gbps fiber / multiple 1GBps then your are touching the realm of clusters/super computers. There are alot better linux geeks...

I use an usb connected dualshock 3 as my favorite linux gamepad by the way. (bluetooth is alot of hackery, i intend to get it working on pandora (when i get it), but mostly i m just lazy and use usb)
