@EvilDragon - Is it possible to order a new heatsink (I modified it beyond reprieve) and a copper case for my Pyra. I’m happy to order a new Prototype case as well, but I’ve broken every battery clip on all of my case sets and would like to see if the updated case has any better longevity...
I know we all want to constantly enable and be in an echo chamber, but there's basically no point in continuing the Pyra with the OMAP. Everything's EOL and deprecated, patching broken issues for almost 15 year old hardware is insanity.
Been in and out of Pandora/Pyra for over a decade (maybe...
My personal perspective to raise capital here is to crowdsource a new CPU to avoid the whole software snafu altogether and drum up excitement for a modern SoC platform and more open OS compatibility.
The Ti OMAP is dead as dead can be, it has issues, and even once we work out the kinks it's so...
Hey guys, selling my Pyra as I've just not had much usage as of late. Seems like life is pulling me into other directions and I have little ability left to contribute to the project anymore.
I'm looking for only $500, something like Ethereum or Bitcoin/Litecoin is preferred.
Long term user...
Sorry, been super busy with work. Made a video of some random things, just to show it still works, seen a lot of people calling the project a scam lately lol. Browsing, native ARM OpenGL Open Arena, then GL4ES + BOX86 running Defcon natively.
Very exciting! The Rockchip solution sounds like a really good path for the project. Lots of external support and less effort that the team has to do in house. I'd be happy to pay the price to support that as well, if you ever sell devboard for the Rockchip to test it out for those of us with...
YESSSS! Of course! Thank you so much for giving it a shot, I'm glad to hear it works for you! Please let me know how it goes for you! I hope more people become interested in testing this out as it's quite a simple install all things considered.
I'll likely make updates and improvements as time...
I also want to release this for anyone who is daring to try it out..
WORD OF WARNING, I take ZERO responsibility with how running this on your Pyra turns out.
As it will probably result in lots of crashes, and needing to reflash your installation if you can't swap the dtb file out if it doesn't...
Sorry for the delayed update, I had some issues with logging in to my forum account (thanks Microsoft!), but ED was able to get me sorted! Thanks ED!
Anyways, I've been cheating lately... And decided to "go big or go home" with the cooler. I just really wanted to test out the functionality of...
I did! They have some very interesting options! I've considered having a custom heatsink made that fills all the airgaps in the case.. but I can't do anything with that level of precision at this point without a model to go off of. Otherwise I'd have to create a mold with some kind of material...
I'm just going to leave this here...
Certainly unrealistic as this requires a hefty boost in vCore to attain.. which makes the temperatures unmanageable outside of short term clock boost, especially on a stock Pyra.. but holy crap does this thing load fast at 2Ghz. I think 1.7-1.8Ghz is the...
I think once I do a little more extensive testing I'll open a new thread for folks to download and run the "unlocked" clock version. Then they can report issues, crashes, thermals, etc. What's nice, is that even though most Pyras will never be capable of running these speeds without cooling...
Well, were back at "stock" clocks now. No instability or problems to report, I'm using 1.35vCore to achieve that.. max voltage for the chip is 1.5vCore. which makes sense as that's roughly enough voltage steps to hit 2Ghz.
I'd like to start backing down the core voltages across all the freq...
HUZZAH!!! IT WORKS!
VERY interesting to see the clock frequency nesting at these new frequencies.. 375Mhz and 625Mhz are slotted quite a bit, when normally they would have called for a higher frequency. All the voltage steps are scaled too, so the half steps split the vCore between the others...
I'd appreciate it if he could point me in the correct direction.
I'd decompiled a couple of them, and I figured out how the clocks are setup and derived, so that's the easy part. I just need to figure out which file is pointed to, and maybe WHAT is point to it.. is there like a config file in...
