    Pda Potential

In fact, almost any zaurus program (except some hardware-specific things like X11) should 'just work' (after installing the required libs, of course).

    Pandora´s Video Tomorrow?

Erm, just checked. Wasn't vanilla kernel... and closer to 2.6.27 than to 2.6.26. Not sure it was OMAP 3xxx either. *Overexcited? who? me?*

    Pandora´s Video Tomorrow?

I think I've seen a few of OMAP3xxx options in 2.6.26 vanilla... 'depends' flags strange though, some were available while building an x86 kernel :P

    Keyboard Poll, Finally!

ctrl and alt are almost *always* used in key combinations, so they must be primary keys - not Fn+something. And yes, they're extremely important in linux. ',' and '.' are important too. But having to use a modifier isn't dramatic, as they're in no standard key combinations - they're used alone...

    Keyboard Poll, Finally!

Ctrl and Alt definitely are the most useful keys ever :P Allt: (ctrl-)alt-f# (chvt), alt-f2 (run command dialog), alt-tab... BtW, might be interesting to use them (or L/R triggers) with mouseemu and touchscreen, too.

    Adjustable Lcd Refresh Rate?

Thanks :) I don't get why there would be some flicker on an LCD at low frame rates, though? (except if the backlight flickers, of course.)

Keyboard Layout - Prepare Voting Pool.

QUOTE I think you can get away with one silent keypress without feedback, but any more and you risk losing track of where you're up to. 5 presses is way too many. Of course five is too many; but that was an extreme exemple, for someone who would want to type in multiple accented languages...

    Brand New Blog Update!

QUOTE "The original plan was keep the GUI simple and put as much time and effort in to gettting as much cool software running as possible, but after a poll we have changed direction." Looks like the fluff lovers won sad.gif Using an Xserver doesn't mean you can't keep the GUI simple... it just...

Keyboard Layout - Prepare Voting Pool.

A better approach (maybe not faster, but cleaner implementation) might be cycling through accents first, then press accented key) - there wouldn't be that "press key - delete character - put it back with accent" thing. Of course, you must know how many keypresses you need for each accent. But...

    Adjustable Lcd Refresh Rate?

Yes... switch between 50 and 60 fps would be nice; having 24, 25 and 30 fps, too, would be even better, saving memory bandwidth and corresponding to common video frame rates. Saving 30MB/s might not seem a big deal, but running at the exact frame rate of the video might help? I don't know a lot...

Keyboard Layout - Prepare Voting Pool.

Even in layouts that use d-pad and nubs, they can be used by the program freely (well, maybe not the nubs, but at least the d-pad) - because it's Fn-dpad that sends the keypress QUOTE Kagato's layouts use Fn-Down to cycle between accents for the last typed character, which leaves left, right...

Keyboard Layout - Prepare Voting Pool.

It would be good to have something close to US layout, using shoulder buttons as CTRL and ALT/ALTGR (Alt = Fn+AltGr, maybe?) but leave Fn-dpad free to use for accents and such, after running some configuration utility, I guess most people should be happy then: - Simple layout (not too cluttered...

    Non-gaming Apps

Someone mentioned imagemagick... I'll add * ufraw (a port would be nice; but too few people would use that, so I'll just have to live with it running on ARM core, without any help from DSP. * gimp (stripped-down - maybe add a simple script that allows to choose which plugins to keep) *...

    Keyboard Layout And Durability

I like the idea having to press accent key (Fn + something?) then letter for most accented characters. By the way, I think Ctrl and Alt *must* have dedicated keys. (Alt and AltGr can be on same key, though - Alt = Fn then AltGr)
