What Is The Maximum Sd Class One Can Benefit From?

Here's a decent high-performance sd-card test, from february: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sdhc-memory-card,2143.html While reading, many cards saturated his card-reader, and are close to SDHC's speed-limit. However, there are significant differences in write-performance and in random...

Minecraft Dev Gets Pandora Before Me

It's mostly Swing (java's gui-toolkit) that sucks. Java itself isn't really all that bad speed-wise, but the few decent JVMs consume huge amounts of memory, and the language doesn't really allow for any kind of optimization... Oh, and it's still far, far faster than most scripting-languages...

    Synchronisation

Well, having a linux-box that's reachable from anywhere on the net does make things a bit easier... FS-cache should help a lot... rsync can be used. If you can get libopensync to work, that'll help.

Hurry Up - Psp2 On The Way

The general Cell-architecture still allows you to pack a lot of computing-power in a small package. Those SPU's are pretty transistor-efficient... Furthermore, Cell has had several years of development since PS3, and I'm sure most issues with the general architecture should've been fixed by now...

Recommendation For A Portable Usb Hub For Pandora?

A small hub that can be stuck to the bottom of the Pandora will probably be most practical. So, things like those: http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=14591 http://www.sharkoon.com/html/produkte/hubs/cross_hub/index_en.html...

    New Open-Source Flash Player Emerges

A new, interesting, modern, open-source flash-player called Lightspark just reached beta-status. Site blog It's based on LLVM for the actionscript3-parsing, and OpenGL-shaders for the rendering. It uses ffmpeg for the video, but no audio yet... Let's see where that's going. It's currently not...

Which Torrenting Programs Will Run On Panda?

Eventually, almost all linux-torrent-apps should be able to run on the Pandora, and that's quite a few. Basically, only memory-usage, installation-size, and a useable GUI limits your options. I personally prefer ktorrent, but kdelibs and its other deps are a bit large...

    Sd Cards

The class is the minimum speed in MB/s while doing continuous writes. It doesn't say much about the actual average speeds. The maximum possible speed for SDHC-cards is 24MB/s. (~50Mhz, 4bits)

    The Humble Indie Bundle

Unless you want to have to make do with about one decently sized game a year, developers do need some form of payment to be able to have teams work full-time on new games... Or, said differently, the amount of decently sized games produced by people who don't get paid is very low...

No, there have actually been linux-binaries of the steam-client available on valve's servers. Read Phoronix's articles.

    Arm Cortex A8 600Mhz+

Eehm, AFAIK, OPP5 isn't considered overvolting, and is fully supported. It's just that using it for prolonged periods of time does slightly lower the chip's life-expectancy, so, by default, the Pandora won't go to that voltage, but apps can specify that they need that speed, at which the Pandora...

    Engagdet Crushes The Joojoo Tablet

The tablet-form-factor is an ideal form-factor for having floating around in your living-room. But the iPad is too locked-down to be of full use in that situation, and the joojoo's battery-life makes it (apart from its software-issues) completely worthless for that use... Things I think a good...
