I don't get it- €20 each month just for one piece of software? I pay £40 for an Xbox 360 game, but I don't want to keep paying that same £40 each month thereafter!
That system also means that people would be paying for a whole bunch of software that they personally don't care about. I also think that it would be hard to decide whether a Dev deserves money or not- I think that it could cause some upsets personally.
Reminds me of the ridiculous video walls that they put into cars on Pimp My Ride.
I really don't see the point of having 2 screens like that on a handheld. What you could do is have a button on the keyboard that switches the task (like ALT-TAB on windows).
I may do just that! (all of this stuff is frying my brain at the moment- I'm trying to find the right bits in the linker to do what I want to do. The best I've come up with so far is being able to set the origin. I'm not sure if this compiler will even support the amount of memory that the Z80 I...
Cool, the more I learn about this stuff, the more I want to do! I've got some ideas already for graphic hardware with a coprocessor and double buffering, but I think I'm getting a bit too ahead of myself ;) I think the first call will be getting a minimal system going hooked up to a character...
I know this isn't exactly a GP2X relevant question, but I feel that this is probably the best place to ask. Sorry if it would be better placed in Off Topic, but I feel that the people likely to be able to answer my question would see it here.
What I want to know is how a compiler would handle...
I agree that it's gotten out of hand. I feel that the news of it's production was leaked too soon, so there has been a lot of time for this stuff to brew. I can see it fitting along nicely with the GP32 and 2X, even if some of the design ideas were slightly questionable *coughkeyboardcough*.
I...
I'll probably try and get something together on OS X, although I'm not sure I'll be using XCode, as the awful code folding drives me mad. I might see if I can get linux running in VMWare Fusion and Dev from that...
Any suggestions for IDEs for Macs?
(I don't know if I can be bothered to dev on...
I can't see any reason that it would take longer. Knowing the guys that are making it, who have been part of the GP32/2X community for a while, I would imagine that they will be working towards making the OS as unbloated as possible.
I think I'd rather buy from the company that is likely to support their product and provide good customer service. As much as I like GPH for releasing the GP2X, they haven't exactly been helping out the community much...
We'll have to see what happens when Pandora is released...
