Boot process is as follows: 1. USB power is presented on microUSB or the power key is pressed. This causes the PMIC to begin its powerup procedure. It is unavoidable that both of these events trigger a powerup, that is how the hardware is configured. 2. BootROM begins executing and tries to...

I think funkeymonkey takes the keyboard, nubs, game controls, and shoulder buttons and maps 3 input devices: Keyboard, Pyra Gamepad, and Nubs (not positive on this). They are configured for keyboard and mouse usage, but I don't think they're configured in the Pyra Gamepad. They don't seem to...

The nubs are mapped but I havent figured our how to configure them yet. It’s all mapped with funkeymonkey but I’ve still to learn how to configure this. I’d like to soon, but it hasn’t been a priority for me yet. I really spend very little time playing with the thing, maybe a couple hours a...

I need to take a look at the schematic to see what’s good with the LEDs on the display board. With regards to charging the battery when off, a secondary OS is not needed for this. We could handle this in the initramfs and prevent mounting the rootfs and continuing booting until we’ve reached a...

@daveshah are we only able to do OpenGL ES on the omap?

Wanna make sure @daveshah gets the credit for this. I’ve just followed his instructions and posted the videos. All the stuff I’ve done is related to the bootloader and the charger.

You need to be pretty damn aggressive with the thing to break it that way. Any adhesive between the heat spreader and the components will not be strong enough to rip the components out of their solder joints. Removing the CPU board is easy and safe (granted I haven't used the new heat...

Agreed. Though 2 years may be a bit short for an iMX9. They took quite a while to get the iMX8 out and rolling (still very fresh)

Which ones are you referencing? I mostly have experience with the iMX platforms. Lots of experience on the iMX6 and some on the iMX8. The iMX7 was a total flop riddled with hardware issues, few use it.

I'm still rooting for the iMX8M :p. The A15 cores actually offer a lot of raw power, but the 8M gives us 4 A53s which offer similar to better performance than the A15s (need to get some metrics to back this up) and have the benefits of aarch64. The power threshold for these SOCs is also really...

General issues regarding F2FS rootfs partition

Yep. The eMMC needs to be partitioned already however.

General issues regarding F2FS rootfs partition

The way the bootloader is set up, the boot device could be adjusted without recompiling the bootloader. Before booting, it reads a uEnv.txt file that you can load onto the boot partition of the eMMC (or uSD if you hold L1). You can use this file to redefine the boot procedure including using the...

    It's software this time!

If you paypal me $5 I'll sign your kernel. Also, no 2GB units means SW is stabilized quicker and easier to handle because we don't have to manage two versions of the bootloader :) Less variance in the field makes it a lot easier to handle (RAM size is difficult to autodetect with the current HW)

General issues regarding F2FS rootfs partition

F2FS is not required, but it is what @aTc uses for the root partition. ext4 could be used, but you will need to generate your own image to do that. It is scripted and not too difficult to flash an SD card. Flashing the eMMC is a bit more involved, I am working on integrating and documenting...

Thanks I'll give that a shot. We'll see how it goes on the Pyra.

More candy. My videos are uploading fairly low res, sorry about that. I'll try to figure out what's up with that for the next one. @EvilDragon is the real video master here :)
