EpicGames Client ?? What do you think about it ?

No linux client, no linux games, means I'm not interested at all. I mean, I signed up and added Subnautica to my account 'cause it was free, but there are more than enough really good Linux games on Steam now to keep me entertained for the rest of my life that I don't feel any need to install...

    State of the pyra

Because when you get things made in China it takes soooo long and so many problems can come up and when you try to contact them they just go silent for weeks and OH WAIT!

    Absurdism corner

I was reading them in order. I quite enjoyed everything up to Pyramids, at which point something in my brain just started shutting down and needed a break. It droned on for chapters and much of the conflict revolved around bureaucracy. If there's one book in the series that I'd recommend...

    Absurdism corner

I don't understand why everyone says to skip the first two. They aren't bad stories. They aren't poorly written. They lay a very solid groundwork for everything that's to come.

The World's Most Powerful Pocket-Sized PC

Yes, but the air blowing out of it would be cool. That's all it appears they're advertising it as. I couldn't see anything that says "cool the room", just "cool you, sitting directly in front of it".

The World's Most Powerful Pocket-Sized PC

It's obviously not meant to cool a room, it's just to provide chill to the area immediately in front of it's blower. It's got side vents which, without looking into any further, I would assume are for heat exchange, so while the air coming out the front makes a nice cool breeze there's going to...

Burger Lord (intellivision burgertime-inspired multiplayer action drama) released

Given that the Pandora *is* linux, doesn't "a linux version" necessarily precede a Pandora version?

Hearing Test - Gettin Old Together

A year and a half ago I had to move my desk because the transformer in the light above me was making an annoying sound that no one else could hear. I got a frequency analyzer to prove that I wasn't crazy. Turned out it was buzzing at 19khz. I apparently have super hearing.

    It's the speed that counts.

Get a clear one, spray the inside with thin layer of glow in the dark paint. The effect of painting the inside of a clear case are really cool, take a look at the ODroid thread.

    Back to normal!

Who is "they"? There's no marketing here, this is a pretty legitimate knowledge site, and it's not the only one; I don't think they're trying to sell anything except their book.

    Back to normal!

That's exactly what I was talking about as well: even a well stored battery loses it's original capacity which, according to previous research, was at best 2-3% per year. See table two Yet Letalis Sonus tells of laptop batteries which only lost 2% after 5 years, so now I'm not sure what to believe.

    Back to normal!

Interesting. All my investigations suggested an estimated 2-3% loss per year if stored in optimal conditions (about 40% charged, low temperature), with up to 20% loss per year if kept fully charged. (edit: and at room temperature) I wonder if that's "average" batteries and there was something...

    Back to normal!

Not to be alarmist, but unused Pandora batteries from 2013 that have been stored at optimal conditions will have about 90% of their maximum capacity left at best. If they haven't been stored perfectly they'll have even less, as little as 33% of the original capacity. To be fair, anyone who's...

    Well, youtube died. . .

I don't have any tabs. I don't remember ever having any tabs, much less a Promotions tab, and I've been with gmail literally since the month it started. I suppose I could've blocked it from my memory. Either way, sounds like it was both really easy to ignore and a really easy thing to opt out...

    Well, youtube died. . .

I don't get ads on gmail at all. Never have. No recommendations or anything, just my email. If you were getting anything else then something fishy was going on.
