    Life of SDcard

Nope. I mean, I can, when my system is not out of RAM and is responding normally I totally can force the OOM to run and system logs acknowledge that it was run and some process (usually a Chromium tab) has been killed, but when RAM is full? Nothing. SysRq+b DOES trigger a reboot, so whatever...

    Life of SDcard

I have never, in almost 20 years of using Linux, had a random application close because of OOM. Always, without fail, when RAM fills up, my system just locks up. If I'm lucky, a few hours later it may start to stutter to life enough that I can ssh into it and kill something (usually chromium)...

    Absurdism corner

The real absurdism here is that it's yet another fake story for conservatives to pull up and say "look what the left is doing to America".

$34 for two 5m RGB strips and two remote controlled RGB bulbs? That's actually a really good deal. Aliexpress doesn't even beat that.

Some personal stuff - and prototypes building!

Hey. your immune system still got a boost, it was just for the wrong virus. You may have still gotten sick but you are literally stronger for having had it than not.

I hope they know what they're doing with swapping RAM chips like that. We've seen firsthand how bad things can go wrong. :P

    Quick update and summary

EvilDragon has talked about how the design always intended for there to eventually be upgrades, but in order to get to the point where an upgrade board can be made his company needs to survive the initial release.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening REMAKE

Also to be fair, such side scrolling through short underground tunnels were in the very first NES Zelda as well, they just dialed them up and made them more interesting.

    Preparing for the countdown...

Yeah, it's very feature heavy, easy to get lost in the sauce. Like I said, I just really like they way it structures a "scene", very intuitive to my particular brain but I can see why it may not be for others. Good luck, hopefully you complete something fun that you'll want to share one day :)

What dit you use your Pandora/Pyra today/the last few days

Voice recognition and dictionary commands is actually really easy to do, I was doing that at an old job on Cortex-M3. A trigger word and a list of 5-10 commands, trained to a single voice, is easily achievable on low powered hardware. The natural language processing that Siri, Alexa, and...

Godot is a 2D engine. It is also a 3D engine but you don't have to use it.

What will a Pyra be able to do that the OpenPandora can't do now?

Depends on where in the stack you're expecting the DAC. As Eight Bit says, it's got a DAC which is required for audio output, but that's basically tied directly to the audio system so you can't really do much with it other than play audio: if that's all you were hoping for then no problem! Got...

    Preparing for the countdown...

Godot is great! I love its take on game structure using nodes: everything is classes and trees and inherited from something else and the whole thing makes sense to me. I'd love to actually have the time to sit down and learn to use it properly one day.

    GTA15/PyraPhone

Navigation has long been possible on the Pandora using Navit and a USB GPS dongle. The offerings have gotten even better over the last 5 years. This is a solved problem. It doesn't have all the features of Google Maps, but it does well enough. No voice commands, for example: can't just say...
