Intel Atom: Did Pandora Choose The Wrong Cpu?

QUOTE(sephiroth111 (paraphrased for clarity) @ Apr 29 2008, 06:33 PM) Linux is part 16bit and runs on DOS. What the hell are you smokin', boy?

    Shared Libraries

Either that, or you could modify the makefile to use the right paths for Windows...Don't ask me how, I'd have to delve deep into the code and reinstall some stuff and tons of other crap to find out and I'm not about to do that.

    Packet Injection

As far as I can tell, packet injection works at the TCP/IP protocol level so it shouldn't matter what hardware or drivers you have.

    Os Wars

I use XP and Ubuntu. Most commercial games need 'doze :(, so I have to have my Wintendo. Also its good to use XP if you have to work with other people on something, as its most likely what they're used to. Linux is good for doing work. There are some good games, too, though not as much as XP...

Graphics Comparable Or Better Than Psp And Ds

Then again the Pandora probably will attract more commercial developers than the GP2X did. But I think we'd have the best chance if there was a "download marketplace" kind of site where commercial developers can submit their games (for a fee that is significantly less than the cost of media as...

    Shared Libraries

You are using the ancient (gcc 2.95) GPH toolchain, right? Its the only one that can compile shared libraries that work with the old linux kernel on the GP2X.

My Gp32 Flu Screen Has A Smear Underneath, Should I Open It Up?

If anybody's still reading this for the original topic, I say DON'T open up the FLU. The lightguide is way to easy to damage. And you can't replace the screen cover because the lightguide is epoxied to it and the screen.

Intel Atom: Did Pandora Choose The Wrong Cpu?

The x86, by being built upon 30+ years of old processors, has a whole lot of redundancy and baggage and bloat . To make a fully compatible x86 processor wastes a whole lot of design effort. X86 will eventually die and MS will either die (by putting all of their resources into that sinking ship...

Writing Too Much To The Sd (using Mmap)

It sounds like the SD is being used as virtual memory. Is that correct?

    3d Accelerated X

Well I see no use for a 3D GUI, but transparency and acceleration are good things, especially with a screen of that size and resolution.

What Is The Most Impressive Thing...

GpSP and Payback are certainly impressive. Quake is still great (try some of the more advanced mods). I wish we had Sonic Robo Blast II (open source, based on Zdoom), it could happen, if I got off my lazy ass and ported it, that would be impressive. Also there's Fleshchasmer, not the best, but...

Well its the same SoC but it's not the same board or screen.

    Using F200 To Control Pc

It would be fairly easy on the F100, except for the touch screen part. It would also be easy on the F200 except that damn GPH removed the Netchip USB Gadget chip which is like the best part of the whole damn thing.

Omap Dev Kit Playing A Video

The Pandora's inaugural video should be March of The Penguins.

    White Screen Of Death(?)

Actually you probably want to let the shop handle it. Gamepark Holdings (GPH) aren't exactly great with customer service, also there isn't always someone available who speaks English. And they don't read their email. Also, GPH would probably make you send it to South Korea at your own expense...

    White Screen Of Death(?)

It sounds like the induction coil for the LCD screen is defective. That is a defect in materials/workmanship so send it back, they should replace it for you. You should email the place you bought it from so they can tell you how to return it.
