Jeff Im sorry if Ive been a pain over the sampled sound issue. Youre quite right that the YM audio sound was inferior in version 13.2 but I only keep bringing it up as its the only thing that lets Castaway GP down when I use it (which is often).
I appreciate youre a busy man and that swapping...
Well Jeff its an improvement but not as good as 13.2's sampling.
I hate to keep banging on about this, but at the end of the day if the original sound core of Castaway isnt very good then no matter how good a coder you are you arent going to be able to make it perfect.
Why not ask Ron & Chui...
More goodies from that thread:
to which he replies:
So I doubt someone who is going to buy a BLU+ is going to abandon the GP32 scene.
All in all good news. So lay off him!
A DrPCE based on PCEAdvance by Flubba would be most welcome I can assure you - just as you porting DrSMS to the GP32. As before, shout if you want any gfx for them!
modded xbox roxors, nothing against the DC scene - its good value for money and its amazing what they do with that machine but if you want a emulation console there is no better alternative than the xbox
Ok, if that is the case then instead of trying to improve Castaway's sound core (the original author of which admitted was its weak part) why not replace it with Win.ST.on's which is known to work well? Its what they did with the Dreamcast port - Wraggster can back me up on this.
After all...
The sound core in 13.2 still seems to be better than this one Jeff. And could it be possible in Database mode to not see the zip file name ie - just the database name? That way you can see more of whats on it.
Amiga: No - too complicated. It was a lot more than the ST.
Arcade: fMame32 on the way, expect only stuff upto 1986/1987 with only simple games like Snow Bros from the years afterwards
Neo Geo: More complicated than the Amiga. Nuff said!
