    Ubuntu On The Gp2x? Possible?

Mac OS 7? You're probably talking about emulation. Emulating a PC, and install Ubuntu in it sounds silly. Installing a Ubuntu distribution compiled for ARM sounds a bit less silly (but still silly). You can have a look at that: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EmbeddedUbuntu

    Jump'n Bump Gp2x (port) Released

Yes, please, please please add it! The game is brilliant, but volume control is mandatory on any GP2X game. I guess you have volume control on your headphones, but think about people who don't! And thanks again for porting this very fun game!

    Gp2x As Audio Client

Thanks for your answer. A shared folder is an option, mounting scripts should not be a problem. Ommpc looks like a nice option, too (the point is not the same: the sound comes out of the PC). But it does not work on my GP2X :-( It crashes on start. I should contact the author.

    Gp2x As Audio Client

Hi everyone, I would like to use my GP2X as audio client. I would like to play the mp3 that are in my Linux Box, thrgouh the USB network connexion. Has anyone an experience with this? Is there a gp2x mp3 player which can be used as client for audio servers? Thanks! EDIT: I found something...

Is There An N64 Emu You Could Actually Port?

400 MHz and a 3D card. In pure software, it would require much more than that. Just forget it. This is impossible (a decent speed). It has been said one billion times on this forum, it is even a joke on one of the member's signature. Wait for the Craiginator.

    Let's Start Coding...?

Hello, You have to understand that creating a game and porting a game are two different things. Porting a game requires technical knowledge about your system that is not directly correlated to programming skills. It's more about hacking compilation options, and make minor but not...

Wich One Is Right For Me Psp Or Gp2x?

You can't play these games without an analog joystick. So GP2X is out. However, it's not likely that you will be able to play them on a PSP anyway.

    GP2X Tv Tuner Drivers

Theoretically, any driver for Linux should work on the GP2X, if you can recompile it for ARM, which should not be a problem if sources are available. Then making it work under a GP2X should be possible, too. However, if nobody has tried that before, it sounds risky to buy a GP2X just for that...

GP2X I Had A Few Crazy Ideas Because I Was Bored.

It's extremely complex, even for very simple programs. Especially after an optimization pass. For any non-trivial program, this is just impossible. Any the answer of thejoeandchip should be convincing enough. The whole IT world would be completely different if it was possible.

    Gp2x Performance Questions

If you have made something which works fine on your PC, and you make a straight port to the GP2X, then you will be disappointed, more disappointed than what you can expect. My intuition is that it will be especially painful for a particle engine. I don't know how you coded that, but on a PC, I...

How Psp Emus Compare To Gp2x Ones ?

Hello, Buy new batteries. Seriously, what is this "classic battery life problem"? I can't see how a device could drain more when it gets old. I am quite curious about it. And as far as I remember, the F200 will be available in October.

What's Wrong With My Enemy Homing Code?

Hello, Just a suggestion: instead of using atan2, cos and sin, you could just have: dist=sqrt(distx*distx+disty*disty) dx=speed*distx/dist dy=speed*disty/dist It's faster and arguably simpler. OK, your code is quite clear, but generally it's better to avoid useless trigonometric function, I...

    Gp2x As Mp3+video Player?

Considering the price of a MP3/OGG player that weights 10 times less, boot 10 times faster and has a way higher battery life, using GP2X as music player makes no sense to me. For the video, I can just say that it works fine, I can't compare as I have never had any other portable video player in...

    Speed Optimization

    - It has been said, but let's make it even more clear: do NEVER use float on the GP2X when speed is an issue. - Put all your optimization efforts on the bottleneck, which is very often easy to find, especially in small games. In your game, I have not looked at your code, but I am pretty sure it...

New User - Please Help With Questions

That has been treated a billion times. Firmware 3.0.0 is slower on boot (something like 5 sec more), but look nicer. However, Firmware 2.1.1 can look really nice too with additional software (gp2xmenu...). No major compatibility issues. SDL is usually statically linked, and the developper...

    Fixed Version Of Floaters

This is a great game: conceptually simple, efficient, original. And the music is nice. Just a suggestion: I think it takes too long to reach the point where the fun really begins (more than 5 floaters at the same time), and often you die before that. So why not three lives? Or maybe could it be...

Which One Do You Like Better?

In general, stating that CPU power and memory does not matter when you compare two systems, is, let's say, weird. Furthermore, to answer to your "who cares?" question, a quick check at archive / forum activity shows that most GP2X owners are mainly interested in 16/32 bit console / computer...

    Vektar Download Version

I have no idea why CraigX did not advertised this so far here (as far as I know), but there is a download version of Vektar available on gp2x.co.uk for a ridiculous price. This is a very good news for all those of us who love this game but don't want to have it on a separate sdcard. I guess it...

    Gngeo2x 0.7 Beta 11

Hello! Thanks for this release! However, I have two questions: - Is it possible to overclock independently 920 and 940? My 920 goes to 280 MHz, but my 940 to 250, and therefore I can't overclock this new version of gngeo over 250. If not, Pepone, could you please add this option? - Some people...
