    All 4000 Sold

I ordered mine at the beginning of April, the german shop did not have any preorder slot left, but the English one still had "a few" of them. I have to say that I would be surprised if there were remaining slots today. I guess many people were waiting until first shipping were confirmed to...

    The Pandora Port Request Thread

DROD and XMoto. DROD is an amazing adventure/puzzle game, probably the best ever. There is an old one which is open-source and free, and a more recent one which is open-source and with commercial content. I made a GP2X version some years ago, I am not sure I will have time to make a Pandora...

    Programming On Pandora

Programming straight on the Pandora sounds much more "elite" to me than using a cross-compiler. Considering: - The lack of proper IDE - The fact that typing code will be unavoidably much less convenient on Pandora - The fact that reading online documentation while programming will be...

Will Java Run (Well) On A Pandora?

Eclipse with 480 lines would be completly useless, even if you had enough RAM/CPU. To code stright on the Pandora, with small screen and not programming oriented keyboard, I guess less verbose, higher level, more interactive languages like Python (PyGames!) or Scala will be more suitable.

    Pandora Price In The Uk

Yes, there is another long thread about that... However, no explanation sounds convincing to me. I can understand price variation, but then price in dollars should increase as well. It is extremely upsetting to pay once again more, as european, for a product which is build by a UK-based...

    Games [Non Emu]

Come on, people, this thread is a joke, I repeated 3 times the same thing, I don't see how I can be more clear. It looks like a Monty Python sketch. Porting wine on non-x86 is not possible, because it does not emulate hardware and therefore should be run on the same hardware as windows does...

    Games [Non Emu]

It has been said, Wine does not emulate CPU. So it makes no sense to compile it on other architecture than x86

    Games [Non Emu]

No. Wine works only on x86. It does emulate a system, not the hardware.

    Games [Non Emu]

No, it makes a big difference whether it is a linux game or not. If it is a linux game, if you have the source, and if your machine is powerfull enough, it should always be easy to port a game. If it is a windows game, even if you have the source, they are likely to depend on libs which have...

    Games [Non Emu]

You need at least to cross-compile your game from source to ARM architecture. In the best case it can be really straightforward, but still it is not the job of the end user. Often you will want to tweak the controls, too.

    Xmoto And Opengl Games

Try XMoto. It is fun, it is entirely based on score comparison with other players, and I don't think there is any problem with "reproducability" there. The chaotic behaviour starts when too many objects are colliding together.

    Xmoto And Opengl Games

Probably. ODE has been ported to various architectures. It would be great to have it on Pandora. I really believe that physics engines are great for homebrew games.

    Xmoto And Opengl Games

Hello, Has someone planned to work on a XMoto porting? It is a great little open source physics engine based game and porting should be (I think) pretty straightforward to port, as long as OpenGL is not a problem. I could work on it if I have some time... I was wondering how advanced were...

    Unnecesary Keyboard

All games on Atari/Amiga had joystick or mouse as main control, at least as the default option, and generally it was mandatory. However, joysticks were single-button joysticks, so often you had to use both joystick and keyboard, where the keyboard were used for secondary action (change weapon...

Release Fullspeed Amiga Emulation On Pandora!

I don't see this as a problem. You can simulate mouse mouvement from one point to another with a chosen speed, at an emulator level. Two tap at positions far away from each others could be simulated by a sequence of small steps. From my understanding, the problem is that the position of the...

    Pandora Order

I am a regular reader of this forum because I think that this is an amazing, unique project. But I am not sure what I would do with this device, so I have not preordered so far. I don't expect anything more with the second batch. And I know I will have to pay more.

    What About A Ds Emulator?

Sorry, but you aren't. It seems that what you are saying makes no sense at all. If you know something about how emulation is actually working, could you describe more precisely what you think hardware-based emulation is? EDIT: Sorry, my post sounds a bit rude, it was not intended.

    Pics Of Final Keymat

He was joking. This is the most ridiculously useless character on the french and german keyboards, I guess no one is denying that. The problem is that all these keyboard have been designed long time ago, before the computers, and no one seems to be able to change that now. The french layout, in...

    Will The Emulators Be Free?

I think there is a big misunderstanding here. Making money with a GNU software that you have not written is perfectly ok, both from the legal and the moral point of view. There is an obvious reason for this: it is explicitely written in the licence. Everyone who licence its code under the GNU...

    Pandora Not Powerful Enough?

I expect Pandora to be a nice ultra-small netbook, but in the gaming field, I would not expect too much that GP2X cannot already do, beyond emulation. Homebrew are typically 2D games, not demanding in ressources. I have hard time to find a homebrews that already exists on PC, that could be...
