First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

Cheers! I'd like to do something like this - it all hinges on whether or not I get the time to figure out how to do it :) I thought it was GP2PSX..? I must confess to being more interested in emulators for older machines than newer ones, tho, so it's not really something I know that much...

First Draft Of A Gp2x Presentation For Linux Users

This is just the text of what I'll be saying - the slides etc. to illustrate will follow later. . . It all started in 2001 with the GP32. This was created by a Korean company, funded by the Korean government, in order to supply a small video game console to people living in a country where...

    Putting Gp2x In The Spotlight

Likewise. And I *am* doing a write-up for both the web and a presentation. The GP2X is a nice bit of kit, but it's not perfect.

How Many Gp2xs Have Been Sold?

Hmmm... according to The GBAX review it sold over 150,000 Someone, somewhere, has the wrong number ;)

    Putting Gp2x In The Spotlight

Heh. I'll remember this strategy next time I want more hits on my web page ;) Dugg! :)

How Many Gp2xs Have Been Sold?

Given that the GP2X is Linux-based, you're more likely to get existing Linux games ported over than GP2X-specific commercial games, IMHO..

    Even Bob Won't Unbrick :(

If you can let me have a copy of the Linux tool, I'll host it on my unbricking guide. . .

Can Gp2x Play The Gp32 Games?

It's got some very addictive games. . . I just started playing Crocodingus. That was a mistake :)

Can Gp2x Play The Gp32 Games?

There's a few DVD ripping guides for the GP2X that tell you exactly how to turn a DVD movie into an AVI. . .

Need Advice On Learning To Code

Python's easy to learn and the GP2X has pygame, might be worth a look. . .

    A Universal Emulator Frontend

Just something that came up in the conversation about the Gp2X being too geeky for FHM readers - it would be nice all around if the playing of emulated games could be simplified. Essentially, it revolves around making the emulation invisible to the user: Instead of loading the emulator and then...

Can Gp2x Play The Gp32 Games?

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. . . . . . but the highest form of intellect ;) On the matter of CDs and DVDs, I find that that frustration goes away if you rip them all to your computer's hard drive, by the way :)

Can Gp2x Play The Gp32 Games?

That's not a huge problem: The GP32's games tend to be small enough that 128MB is more than you need :)

    Lug Presentation

It was a First Edition - the one with firmware that was so picky about upgrading. Hence the problem. Having used the BoB to re-flash, it's now using firmware 2.0 and is indeed much, much better. Quicker to start up, and the battery light isn't On the whole time :)

    Fhm Mention Of Gp2x

Nawa> IMHO, if you want to make emulated games easier for the average non-geek, you need to hide things from them: Instead of firing up an emulator & loading the ROM within it, you need to think up a way so that you can just select a game direct from the menu, and it automatically gets launched...

Can Gp2x Play The Gp32 Games?

And even today, a GP32 is still a damn good buy, IMHO. I still use mine..

    Fhm Mention Of Gp2x

You're complaining that the writers of a men's mag didn't read the instructions or ask for directions??? Are you a woman in disguise or something?? :)

    Fhm Mention Of Gp2x

What's wrong with that? I can't say that I could fault anyone for saying that the GP2X is geekier than the other contenders. "You just have to download the emulator, unzip it to an SD card, download some ROMS, put them in the right folder, turn on the power, go into the emulator, go to the...

    Lug Presentation

I'm booked in for late September, so I've plenty of time to spare. I'll be highlighting things like the hardware & built-in functionality too, of course, but I know about those- they're built-in :) It's the "Look what *else* you can make it do!" stuff that I really need the help with.. So, the...

    Lug Presentation

So, I made the mistake of letting my local LUG know I've got a GP2X, and now they want me to do a presentation on it :) No problem there, but I'm happy to admit my ignorance about many aspects of the GP2X. I use it to play movies & Doom and the like, but I've never gotten around to using MAME...
