Gotta say im quite impressed with this, first version i tried was v9008 and it was better than i was expecting after all the moaning going on. Clearly its still in a beta stage of its life, but as a first look its very promising. Just need a few things stripping like the referance to exiting...
Yep. What i did with mine though before i began to downgrade was format the NAND just to make sure the junk pre-installed was gone, even though it would appear the firmware upgrade/downgrade does this anyways i just didnt want it to run into any problems.
Just make sure you go in sequence...
Agree with everyones comment from above. Downgrade it to 2.0.0, then up to 2.1.0 and finally to 2.1.1 you will not regret it. The 3.0.0 firmware is so damn slow compared to the 2.1.1 firmware.
Do you have your ROMs on your SD card as /roms/ngpc/ ?
Have you edited the config file? If so then chances are windows has "touched" the file leaving stray ASCII characters in there "corrupting" it. Use the free editing tool called "jedit" to change the config and you should be fine if thats the...
It would appear a few people here can't read properly, post on subjects they have no knowledge of, backtrack and then try to make it look like the person who just re-educated them is spinning off on a rant.
Don't think i'll waste my time on this matter anymore.
Didn't you read what i posted? It was an example of why FAT is inferior as you don't seem to have any understanding the filesystems, to which your journalling comment stands testiment. ;)
The fact is people get corrupted cards all the time and lose their data if they dont have a backup of it...
LMAO, i cant believe you just said that....
FAT32 stores ALL of its tables, primary and backup in the root block. EXT2 stores multiple backups of it's superblock throughout the FS. If you'd like to remove the first 20K of a FAT file system, i'll remove the first 20K of an EXT2 file...
I think being as the gamepark website has been dead for atleast the last 72hours, to my own knowledge, makes now more than ever a good time to have a minutes silence for gamepark and their xgp system.
Got yet another one. Support automounting of ext2 formatted SD cards. I hate FAT32 its evil unstable and inefficient.
Sure it reads them but its a pain in the arse getting it to mount them right now.
Nice idea shame its one hell of an ugly beast you'll be strapping to the back of your gp2x.
Now if only someone was to come up with a full replacement back cover for the gp2x that let you fit 3x AA batteries, then i would definatly be buying that.
Got a quick little bug for you. Whenever changing the sound sample in game it always breaks the sound, like its only playing part of the music not all of it. But when resetting the game or loading a new game it then plays sound fine at whatever the set sample rate is.
Dont know if its just me or...
Make it as fast as firmware 2.1.1 in both booting and menus. I find 2.1.1 much faster in all ways than 3.0.0 and downgrading was the best thing ive done.
Free up the NAND space by remove all the preloaded junk as previously mentioned and bring back the NAND option.
Fix video playback desync...
Voted for transparency. Personally i wouldnt start something new untill the old thing is totally completed, but thats just what i personally would do. I hate leaving things half done.
Great work though, much appreciated :)
Smart move, i did that to my system with 3.0.0 firmware. Not only does it boot much faster but the menus are way faster too.
Glad you got your stuff working :)
