    Super Paper Mario

Its a great game. Except the intro, which is far too long! I enjoyed it more than any games in years...

    The 'select' Button

I vote Start, Select and Option as Prophet:-) As for non-overridable functions - to ensure programs can always be exited etc - the idea makes sense. But how about a combination, then emulators are free to use the raw keypresses how they choose. Something like ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-amiga-amiga...

New Button Poll With Impossibles Removed

How about UDLR? Voted NSWE as its most descriptive.

    Davec Joystick Cap

Where are you based? I think I've still got mine - dpad modded the F100, so no longer need it. Mark

    Tv Out Basic?

When I saw the topic I thought it was going to be a suggestion of booting to a BASIC READY prompt on screen+tvout. So it would be like the good old 8-bit days:-) That would rock!

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

Course that keycode stuff isn't unicode. I'm yet to work out what it IS though. Conversion to ascii by & with 0xff works in some cases, but I want to know what the upper bits represent... The code for loadkeys is as clear as very thick mud.

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

Yes true, thought I'd quite like it to show the key I've pressed on the emulator menu. Also for common (non-system specific) stuff I'd like the value on the keyboard to be used. Then you only need to remember special keys, rather than get out the old computer to find out where the " character...

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

In case anyone was (silently) interested - I've just updated the link with a much newer version. i) Connect/disconnect/multiple device support. ii) Joystick support. iii) Mouse support. Going to try it for real in atari800 now... Only tried the included example so far. Mark

    GP2X Detecting Usb Connect/disconnects?

I thought I'd use opendir instead to scan the directory... (takes .5ms, so not ideal but...) It does detects new files added. However, even if I closedir/opendir and rewinddir it does not detect deletes. Until I restart the process! Gah! So to detect deletes I need to open (or stat) each file -...

    April/may 2008 Availability?!

The MK1's are the first 100 semi self-assembly units right? I'd love one of them (bugs and all), but being only 100 (including free ones to core devs) that doesn't leave many I guess...

    GP2X Detecting Usb Connect/disconnects?

I'm trying to detect keyboard/joysticks being attached. I've tried several strategies, all of which work on my other linux boxes (2.6...), but none work on the GP2X! What is the best method for this? I tried: i) F_NOTIFY in fcntl on "/dev/input". Works and returns success, but never notifies...

    Volume Slider

Lets revisit the requirements: i) Precision of control. ii) Consistent across applications. iii) Ability to hold, so not knocked in pocket. iv) Control volume at early startup -before OS is up. v) Cost reasonable vi) Size vii) Fits with current design - analogue amp? viii) Non-volatile. ix)...

    Volume Slider

Heh, those look great - not come across them before. Much better than the 6mm slider. Course there still needs to be two buttons - or a small rocker to control it. Really need two buttons + a switch to lock it. Thought there could also be an and gate connected with the controls (must be one...

    Volume Slider

Wow, these a really hard to find. But 6mm travel seems low. I'd even prefer a set of 8 external dip switches, giving 256 volume levels:-) Or a trimpot that I need a screwdriver to adjust (stylus could have a screwdriver end?). Or the stylus is volume control (turns an internal trimpot) when in...

    Volume Slider

I think a slider was decided since it allows space behind for the stylus to slide in. Though 1cm travel does look too low for any precision of control? GP32 wheel seems to have approx 3-4cm travel. Anyway guess Craig just wants the part at this point, rather than a flamewar opening up again...

    Omap 3440 / Cortex-a8 Documentation ?

I'd be very disappointed/surprised if this info isn't made available for Pandora users in some kind of open form. Since thats kind of the point IMO! Anyway I don't think there is anything yet, so best to talk to TI. Good luck with the project. Sure any contributed code will be...

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

Thanks metalbrain, some good info there. My latest attempt is at: http://ssh.scrameta.net/www.scrameta.net/l...eyboard.tar.bz2. It uses /dev/input/eventXX to get the press/release events. Just using the defines from /usr/include/linux/input.h is rubbish since it only works for a fixed US layout...

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

Thanks I'll check out usbjoy. As for keyboard think I'll have a go starting from the scankeys app as a base... Amazing how something so simple seems to be so hard. Go Linux! Mark

    GP2X Reading Usb Keyboard

I'm pulling my hair out trying to read characters from the keyboard! All I want is a nice simple way to find out which keys are currently pressed (unbuffered press/release events also ok) under Linux. I don't want to use SDL or some heavyweight library. There MUST be a simple way of doing this...
