    Usb Host Developments

If Torpor pulled that off it's great news. Personally I'm looking for usb host so I can one day connect two usb gamepads and use the TV out cable to use the GP2X as a console when I don't need it travel sized :) The other immediate drooling throught is wifi.

    Usb Host Developments

just because it seems to be my calling... You do know that for this to work you'll have to compile your own kernel -- and since the only relased kernel sources are "a bit out of date" ---- you know the rest of this story....

    Quake V2?

It's not really scalling it's pixel doubling - which doesn't result in distortion, just a blocky image. (there is a difference)

Gph Aren't The Only Ones Goofing The Gpl ..

Reminds me of the KHTML | Safari situation from awhile back. (http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/05/04/29/1556252.shtml?tid=121&tid=95&tid=3) The GPL has never required you to be helpful. While some of the things that Motorola have done are annoying it's clear they are following the letter of the...

    Firmware 1.4.0 Features

“flagrant violation of international copyright law” Can't simplify it much more then that, but I'll try to connect the dots for the people that still don't get it. GPH is in “flagrant violation of international copyright law” The people who's copyrights have been violated will or are seeking a...

    Firmware 1.4.0 Features

-edit- Tottally new post – last one answered a question that was already answered. So does anyone disagree with the following: If GPH continues to break the law the GP2X will not succeed.

    Firmware 1.4.0 Features

Eh… More of the same… My responses grow more and more apathetic.. Points: This release was kinda sorta “private” in that GPH didn’t put it up in a big obvious place and only gave it to certain people, that’s fine, if however they expected people to not redistribute the firmware that’s not ok...

    Neogeo Games

Have a look over the GnGeo2x compatabilty list here: http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/GnGeo2x The streaming problem is *mostly* solved with dumpgfx, leaving only a few games that are still to large to load. The NeoGeo CD only has a few games that are exlusive to it, but the MVS has many games that...

    Neogeo Games

Why would you want to play NeoGeo CD games when you could play NeoGeo MVS games? GnGeo is coming along nicely, with an overclock it runs many games with sound at perfectly playable speeds. Furthermore the site you linked to is showing MVS games not CD games.

    Slashdot Once More...

There's some pretty loud silencing going on with this issue. Sure we all know the score at this point so there really isn’t much of a need to talk about it, but at the same time it’s not like the issue isn’t valid. Maybe a GPL FAQ should be made up and added to the board as a sticky?

    New Firmware 1.3

Isn't that the case with 45% of the conversations on Internet? I'm guessing another 45% is spent on mindless group think, leaving 10% for intellectually stimulating debate...

    New Firmware 1.3

No real rant from me this time. GPH is obviously taking the GPL violation seriously since they seem committed to not making another firmware release until they come into compliance. This obviously hurts them as a company as holding up the firmware keeps bugs from being fixed, and thus makes...

    Gp2xpsx Screenshots (new)

that would be a thing of beauty --- if I didn't know the frame rate wouldn't be easier to measure in seconds per frame then frames per second.

Which System Should I Port An Emu For?

I was thinking about making a DaveC emulator -- well once I finish the Dijitao emulator, since once I finish the Dijitao emulator I'll have plenty of spare time since it will handle bitching about the GPL for me. :P

    Whos Excited For Tomorrow?! (friday)

Your post wasn't there when I posted – I can't agree more, we should all be very pleased that this shows that GPH is working towards releasing all the GPL'd code not just the kernel. If Craig could perhaps just give us an update once a week on how things are progressing, just something as...

    Whos Excited For Tomorrow?! (friday)

I just hope they release binary and source at the same time, to do anything else would be in bad taste. If this takes a little longer so be it, I want GPH to be a successful company and that's not going to happen as long as they keep breaking the law. I'm a little confused by this whole Divx...

    Where Is The Firmware

I'm just pleased it seems your understanding, I hope while me may disagree on the methods of how to enforce compliance we should all be able to agree on the importance of compliance. Correct and Correct. I wouldn't downplay the pratical side of the equation, but yes the legal issue is...

    Where Is The Firmware

How do you believe all the great OSS server applications that you have such respect for came into being? Back in the early to mid 90’s OSS on the server was worse then OSS on the desktop is today (Ubuntu is very useable). Apache hasn’t always been the marvel of web serving that it is today...
