    Initial Load And Splash Screens

I was thinking the same thing about using cramfs, or possibly squashfs - but using a jffs2 overlay to make it modifiable is a very nice idea. At any rate it will be nice to start working on this stuff once GPH straightens out their licensing.

Put me down as another vote for displaying the console upon boot.

    Ffmpeg

I can't wait till we get the source to GPH's hacked up mplayer - hopefully once we have that taking advantage of the video processor will be trivial-ish.

WMA version 7 & 8 have been reverse engineered and can be played under Linux without resorting to using windows DLL files and a wrapper. WMA 9 has not been reverse engineered and is not currently possible on non-x86 hardware. :edit: Just confused WMV & WMA -- I know WMV v7-8 work, but I've...

    Gui....

The list of folder format has nothing to do with Linux. That's just GPH's menu program. The kernel is all very behind the scenes stuff.

    Firmware 1.4.0 Features

No no no no no no no! The GP2X pre-release bullshit excuse simply does not fly. How many stores sell it? How many thousands of units have been shipped? The GP2X is in production, any claim to the contrary is just plain bullshit (even if it is GPH themselves making the claim).

    Firmware 1.4.0 Features

They are committing copyright infringement every time they distribute code that contains GPL licensee code without complying to the terms of the GPL licensee. So in your assessment that this is not a new crime but rather a continuation of the old one you are somewhat correct. Undoubtedly a new...

The Schematics posted on http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/USB_Host aren't just for show. You'll have to clean up the USB signal, which is beyond the ability of many of us.

    Gngeo2x Problem

You need to edit your gngeorc file in the conf directory. Find the line that says something like "sound = false" and make it say "sound=true".

    Gp2x Usb Host Driver

I remember ^H as what happens when you press backspace on an improperly configured terminal. (I has an old (mid 90) Sun Server in my office that had that problem...)

    Gp2x Usb Host Driver

Totally depends on if the kernel module will load when paired with the stock GP2X kernel. Some on these forums have indicated that the method outlined in the wiki should and does create a module that will work with the stock kernel. It’s reasonable to speculate that the modules “made by south...

    Gngeo High-end Rom Support

What would be cool is if when Gngeo gave the out of memmory error it automatically created a dumped gfx file and tried to load the rom again.

Zmodem Wow does that take me back. Wasn't Zmodem the protocal were you could upload and download to the server simulataniously? I seem to remember using it on BBS with file download ratios.

    Usb Host Developments

The key to good multiplayer setup is abstraction of the connection from the emulator, as in a TCP/IP connection. That way emulators are just coded to do network play using whatever network is available and it won't matter if it's wifi or usb or blue tooth for that matter.
