Wooow, I'm very glad to see Hexen 2 finally ported on the GP2X! it's such a great games ;) You did a great job!
I played for ~15mn @270mhz before I had to go, and it runs without much problems... except maybe speed and sound
One question, do you think it is possible to 'backport' some...
yeah! Finally an update! i've been waiting for a long time to play Tales of Phantasia and Terranigma on the GP2X!!!
(actually I've already finished tales of on ZSNES, i couldn't wait :) )
Acutally I found Quake to run quite choppy, even at 270Mhz... Since Hexen2 is an upgraded version of the Quake engine (not sure about it) I wonder how well it could run... But I would definitelly appreciate playing H2 on the GP2X ;)
how predictable <_< Please don't start with this again, with all that modding you'de be better off buying a laptop, it should fit both the budget and the size
Take a look at Zod's blog ^^
And according to Zod, hlide is so talented that his use of the 2nd processor may not be 'the last bit of performance', but rather the beginning of something... well, really cool ;)
Wow! He can only be a very talented developper if Zodttd 'hired' him :)
He seems to be the guy who developped a PSX emulator for PSP from scratches (yapsxp)
It sure is much faster than the first frameskip beta!!
Actually the games runs very fast (wipeout for example), but not smooth enough to be playable!
But if you can imagine the game displaying enough frames for the game to be smooth, it would be very fast! If you see what I mean -_-'
A very good news indeed, it shows that you are alwyas full of good ideas to make Psx4gp2x progress!
You have all my attention for some weeks now :) (sorry if that won't help you much lol)
It's getting better and better :) big Hurray for Una-i!!!
There is so much good 2D games that are going to be playable at a good speed!! And if you add 3D games, PSX definitely have some of the best games ever!
I'm really looking forward to see the effects of a frameskip! I've got my SD card...
Hey you know what? I noticed the same thing : framerate hasn't changed very much, often even lowered, but games still smoother...
Zod!! did you put frameskip behind our backs, or am I to focused on that new GPU that I see things which aren't implemented?? :P
Depends on the game :)
It seems that Castlevania SotN is running at 60FPS, Oddworld 30 (40 seems too fast), FF7 30 in game, 15 in combats
Wipeout is quite fast at 17FPS, i guess it's running at 30FPS but I almost never played it on a real playstation to compare speeds
They will not get the same score :) But there will be some point, where the score will be maxed, and we won't beat that hiscore...
The problem is not really there : on every game there is a certain average score that you can't possibly beat unless you're a computer :) But usually in shmups (for...
I don't know if that would make such a difference... The game is limited both by the number of waves, and the strategies to win (build as much SuperTowers a possible), but Alex sure has a lot of ideas for the next release ;)
