I've updated to v1.2 on openhandhelds. Don't know when it will show up as I believe some manual intervention is required.
I've also uploaded to google drive here
Changes:
Gone from SDL to frame buffer access, not sure if it will be any faster but worth a try I thought. Hopefully this won't...
V1.0.8.1 is in the repo.
Main changes are:
IREM drivers are now working, sebt3 gave me the tip of adding -fsigned-char compiler flag and that got it working. Unfortunately only at 4fps. I've hacked around with the driver and with a bit of overclocking (~1000mhz) R-Type is pretty playable...
Thanks, some improvement. -fsigned-char fixes the IREM driver on both Pandora and Caanoo. Caanoo still has palette issues though on galaxian drivers.
I take it I would have to add #define double float to every source files (of which there a hundreds)? I tried adding it as a compiler option...
Hi
I was hoping for some help with GNU compiler and some strange issues I've been having.
If I compile FBA using x86 GNU G++ (v4.4.1) on my Windows PC using MinGW everything works fine and all games run.
If I compile natively on the Pandora (G++ V4.3.3 for ARM) almost everything works apart...
Hi
I hoping someone might be able to help.
I'm trying to make it easier to debug FBA by ssh-ing into the Caanoo from my PC.
I've loaded a fresh install of Ubuntu and followed the guidance here
When I look at the wired connections I can see Wired Connection (Linux 2.6.24/lf1000 udc Caanoo...

Hi
BA Felton kindly donated me his Caanoo and asked if I would port my version of FBA from the Pandora.
I've got the first beta to a point where it is good for testing, I've uploaded it to openhandhelds.org here
I've included several scaling options, obviously most scale down so you will lose...
I have a working version of demon front . You should probably select force m68K and cZ80 for IGM games, using Drz80 have caused mid game crashes in the past,
V1.0.8.0 is in the Repo. This update incorporates the changes from v0.2.97.24 found here http://www.barryharris.me.uk/fba.php
Among other things, it add DoDonPachi II (Bee Storm) and Demon Front.
Enjoy
Dave
@Gyges. I think it is just a quirk of Capex. When you save a config for a game, it changes the right hand column (green abbreviations) to the settings for that game and the main headings change back to the main cfg settings. It does it for all settings, not just rotate, you probably haven't...
Do you have to create a node for the joystick using
mknod /dev/input/js2 c 13 2
assuming js0 and js1 are reserved for the nubs.
I'm not particularly good with Linux but it seems logical that you would have to.
Fixed the issue with the rotation settings not being saved.
I cannot recreate the Air Busters crash but I wonder if it was related to the rotation settings save problem. Try saving a new config and seeing if it is still an issue.
V1.0.7.5 in repo.
On pressing the switch to go into suspend I got the following error message:
nm-dispatcher.action: Error in get_property: Method "Get" with signature "ss" on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" doesn't exists
@Gyges - sound works ok, I suspect it's a bad romset. earlier versions of fba only exited on missing program roms, latest version exits on any missing rom. It told me my version of Sengoku 3 had one rom missing, I got a complete zip and sound works.
edit - slot error is also gone
If I try setting the filter via
sudo /usr/pandora/scripts/op_videofir.sh none_up
I get this error
/usr/pandora/scripts/op_videofir.sh: line 34: can't create /sys/devices/platform/omapdss/overlay1/filter_coef_up_h: nonexistent directory
I'm not sure if changing the filter is having any...
