Thanks, I've got the text file that comes with the Mame GP32 download but some of the names are not always obvious. Tried Nemesis and Gradius last night, a little slow to start with but once you get some speed-ups, your ok.
:)
OS9XDAT.tmp is the only file created by OpenSnes9xGP 0.3 but doesn't make any difference if this file is deleted. The strange thing is that this file is 0KB.
:)
Thanks, I've already got those :). Sorry, should have mentioned for Mame GP32. I've probably got R-Type for every available system now but playing on Mame GP32 would be the ultimate :D.
:)
Can anybody recommend some good "playable" horizontal shooters? Has anybody tested any of the Nemesis/Gradius series and if so, how well do they run? How about R-Type?
:)
Congratulations :D, you don't get much better than that. Excellent news.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but does setting frameskip to <=5 give you the best performance (speed wise) as it will run as fast as possible but may drop down to 5 if required?
:)

Does this version allow you to browse to different folders to select your games? (like in the new BLU+ version). I'm sure when I last run Snes9xGP 1.0, they had to be placed under smc:\\gpmm or am I thinking of the older OpenSnes9xGP.
:)
SNES emulation with sound runs quite slow on the GP32 (so I've heard). However, I've heard games are playable without sound. If you purchase a BLU+ you will need to make sure you get the correct build as the white bar issue is present on some of the SNES emulators.
I've only started using the...
Regarding OpenSnes9xGP for the BLU+ (can't remember the version of this new build) but when I go to run R-Type, Gradius or any of the Star Wars games, I get an "Out of Memory" error. Do I need to configure something to bypass this error to play the game?
:)
Probably not under Mame GP32, I believe it runs on the neo-geo hardware. However, you may be able to run this game under another emulator. I'm sure I remember playing one of the series (colour) on fGB32.
:)
Thanks for the comments guys :). Can I do the same with C++ as I can with C? As I've already got a book on C++, I would prefer to use this instead of buying another book on C. Thanks for the link Blah :), I've already downloaded these to my HD. I guess my ultimate goal is to eventually develop...
Probably best to learn on the PC first and then once I become familiar with the language then look at doing things with the GP32. The examples that I am doing at the moment involve printing text in a DOS screen (like Hello World example) and basic keyboard input. Could this same code be applied...
