    Our New Machine, Pandora

    * Waiting for Craig to announce that the team has decided to make the new device round, with the screen right in the middle, spreading all the gaming controls and keys that anyone could ever need around it. I love the modular idea DaveC, but I still prefer the detachable clamshell design that...

    Our New Machine, Pandora

I didn't originally consider the original GP2X size buttons, I think that we could manage with something slightly smaller :) , even so, this six button design that I posted up above could be "adjusted" as it's only for demonstration purposes ( proof of concept ). The two small buttons could be...

That second image looks about right, the others seem to have the buttons at uncomfortable positions :) How about something like this? ( It would need straightening a little, but at least it keeps the buttons away from the edge of the machine and within reach of the thumb )

I definitely like the tits idea Eolair :P I've taken a couple of pics of old controllers, forgive the dust and bad quality  http://www.bitmaniacs.com/gamepads/ Button layouts and shapes should be considered if we want to keep the machine as small as possible.

Heh , I missed that part. I think that's an excellent idea.

And with a Dpad, analog stick, and a load of gaming oriented buttons? It must have some form of shoulder buttons... if not triggers, at least buttons... Really.

    Our New Machine, Pandora

How could you compare this to a PS3? This isn't overpriced, and it is open source ;) Anyway, I'm not going to discuss this, it is a bit pointless, if you like the machine and it's specs, buy it, if you don't... Then simply don't. It's time for a beer now

I'll take things for granted, if this machine does finally see the light and is as good as everyone expects... It WILL have a huge community ;)

    Our New Machine, Pandora

It's not "only" a gaming device, the price tag is totally reasonable if we consider what it's going to offer, gaming, emulation, multimedia functions, PDA and computer functions... A Zaurus SL-C costs more and doesn't even come close to the specs being mentioned here :)

    Our New Machine, Pandora

I consider Turnip's design, and DaveC's design... If someone wishes to draw the combo it would be handy :) Basic design & shape from DaveC's design with detachable keyboard Button number, DPad and stick positions from Turnip's design And this wouldn't be built around N64 emulation...

Why Do People Want The Mk1?

    Bill Gates probably

    Our New Machine, Pandora

At this point, I will suggest that someone sets up a poll :) We as users should tell the developers of this new machine what we really want. I want the OMAP because I'm insane and would love that BRUTAL performance. BUT. I won't kill myself if we end up with the glorious i.MX31, as it would...

    How Much Is The F-200?

It "should" cost the same as the normal GP2X ( I'm only guessing, but I can't see any good reasons for it to cost more )

I just said that ( more or less  ) I can't wait to have this beast in my hands :)

    Our New Machine, Pandora

I find the device reasonably cheap and feature packed. If you want more than just a retro gaming device this is the device to get... If all you want is retro gaming, stick with the GP2X... It's not too complex really :) BTW. Happy b-day Craig, don't drink too many B)

    The "i <3 Gp2x" Thread

I still adore my GP2X's, I have 4, soon to be 5

Squidge, you adore the i.MX31, don't you? ( jk ) I trust you guys, you know what we all want, please test, reason, and finally tell us what to do... The end user likes performance, but performance without control is nothing ( I wonder who said that before ) B)

    Our New Machine, Pandora

    Doesn't sound too steep :), what are the "real" advantages ? Edit: That's €293 -- $403 ( for those that don't know it ) Edit 2: I'll explain why it doesn't sound too steep to me... I've had a Zodiac 2, a Zaurus SL-C860, ( was going to buy an SL-C 3200 soon ), I have a Nokia N700, I have 4 *...

    Is It Still Worth It?

    I would simply buy a cheap second hand GP2X F100 or F100 ( B ) :)
