GREAT, its x11 running and looking good :) What do you plan next?
If i remember right that specific WM tries to maximise application area so it defaults to adjust the window size to its fitting. May need a few setting tweaks to have large applications or even a switch to Flux. Server should...
Well i can tell you that it works :)
Start by supplying anything how you setup your installation. e.g. folder structure, where did you put your pak's into. DID you put pak's into?
I like the touched & a bit cleaned up design, continue that effort :)
However i wonder where the benefit lies? Page impressions still take a considerate amount of time as the old archive script (i agree here: i once had a look into and its ugly on the inside). Have you thought about more or...
RatoZumbi: use Termula2x or ssh shell and check /lib ... there are are already a few libs preinstalled ;)
Rikku2000: i overlooked that post upto now. Thank you for porting these!
I'm in no way helpful about MAME but consider a shell script invoking the emulator with an rom-file option (if it does support so).
Would look alike (its pseudo only - never used MAME before):
#!/bin/sh
# prepare
ROMFILE=/mnt/sd/roms/mame/donkeykong.zip
# goto MAME directory
cd...
Well it's true that we can now use binaries compiled originally for gp2x (using Ginge) but employing that technique for gp32 emulation is a complete different story. They both share a cpu core with a quite similiar ISA (some earlier variant of ARMv5) however both the underlying hardware was...
Great! Seems actually a fairly new bit of hardware and the specs read fantastic. The internal 3 dbi antennae does not sound impressive but given the minimal casing its cool. Quite affordable too.
Drivers are available through rt2x00 linux driver...
Doh! And i thought the GP2x version would be related to the GPH released one and merely beeing a demo. <_<
Thanks for clearing up.
(on 2nd view: the GPH version has more refined gfx, probably a full remake on their side)
I wonder wheter it can be run on Wiz via Ginge.
Really interesting! What chipset does it use? Asking myselves wheter the support is backported from newer kernels or just activated in that compile.
How good is area coverage? Friend of mine told me that those tiny WLAN dongles have an abyssmal driving strength (antennae related) and even...
Try Reader2x: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/wiz.cgi?0,0,0,0,113,65
It can read a few PDFs that pdfviewer cannot open. For best reading enjoyment however dump PDF and convert them back to plain ol' RTF.
I'm curious too. Orkie ported plain X11 (x.org?) back then for GP2x F100 but its a fuss to compile it for Wiz. However on a 2nd thought: haven't tried to run the original binary :o
I abandoned that idea later then in favor of checking eighter Wayland (x11 replacement) or integrated X11 within...
Also disabling audio boosts speed too. The A/V Sync can ruin everything. Use "-ao none" or "-frameskip off".
For a more substantial solution would be to check wheter the code uses or even misuses floating point calculations and possibly replace them by a fixed point math model.
Andymanone from german forums successfully replaced the GPH stock battery with a 3rd party one. I don't have the link ready but i think its just a matter of market investigation of similiar battery types. Don't get me wrong. I would *greatly* prefer a explicitely supported battery instead of...
Hiben: maybe contacting FSF is helpful. They announced the necessity for having a FLOSS PowerVR driver. Check here:
http://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:PowerVR_drivers
Drawback is that they mainly target the SGX series and there is little to announce yet. My best bet would be to use a hacked up...
I think it might be related to PCSX... i'd have to verify it for myselves but i think i learned that FF8 & 9 are facing dificulties with the emulator. Probably was mentioned in the "great" PCSX compatiblity list (hosted at google docs)
