Just a quick message to tell you guys we are not dead :P (As I said in a previous) I am currently working on some stuff for school :) If you really want to see some progress/something new I can always make a video of the destructible containers even though it's not really that special or...
Seems it's been some time since I posted an update so here's what we're working on right now:
- I have done some optimisation in code (with help from foxblock :) )
- I have added "Containers" (Crates, Barrels, Pots,...) that you can break by hitting them with your umbrella.
Now working...
This was my top 4:
1) Prometheon - Very nice presentation but lots of text...
2) Schizophrenia - Cool gameplay mechanics, nice pixelart graphics too (good job foxblock ;) ) controls where a bit difficult at the beginning but I'm sure I can get used to them :)
3) Puzzletube - Simple but...
Thanks for the feedback, Jonny D :)
When I finished the picture and looked at the 3 enemies I thought of Doctor Mario too :P And yes, the 3 monsters will be different. The blue one just walks/hops around, yellow one is a flying jellyfish like creature that will chase you if you come near...
Thanks Markoez :D
@u9i: Thank you :) I'm actually an artist too (but I love programming so much that I wanted to focus on it this time and let the graphics be done by someone else) that's why I make games in a different way. This game for example started with the thought "Wouldn't it look...
Yeah, I (coder from Rainy Day) did them :) Glad you like them even though I didn't/couldn't put as much time in them as I wanted to... But I'll sure keep working on the game (as a distraction from coding for Rainy Day) :D
Well I don't know what colours are "colourblind friendly"... But I need all 3 primary colors + The 3 you get when mixing those, so I don't think it's possible to be colourblind friendly...
(And just saw your EDIT... :) )
And yeah, a colour code lock, that sounds cool :D
@Archibald: I...
I don't know for sure but I think the backgrounds (during the guitar playing) are from one of the other guitar games (rockband or guitar hero). The buttons and notes are like these http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/5083/63602427.jpg (but that's not rockband, it's something else...
"...Which of course goes for Rainy Day which was such a teasing taster of what will hopefuly flesh out to a great, perhaps commercial game..."
Rainy Day will be free :D and most likely open-source too ;)
Rainy Day - More than just a simple platformer
I heard a lot of people say they really like the graphics but don't liked the fact that it was just going to be a generic platform game... So I sat down for a few hours and came up with an idea :D The game will still be an action platformer but...
The only thing that I was wondering with GOF is if it's actually allowed to include songs like "Run to the Hills", "Highway to Hell",... That's copyrighted material, right...
Really, that top 6 is completely different from what I expected... But I'm happy, I'm 4th while I thought I wouldn't make the top 6 at all (with all the comments about the demo being to short)... Thanks to those who voted for Rainy Day :D

And of course congratulations to all other winners :)
