Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

And we're still waiting two years later for it to be used properly on the gp2x. A few apps use it for a few things, but only a small fraction. If this is a hint that the new system has a "dual core", that narrows the possibilities quite a bit :)

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

I did not see any of the "insiders" say anything about gp2x compatibility, and I'd say it's almost certain that the vast majority of current gp2x apps will not run without changes on this new machine. In most cases, the changes shouldn't be very hard and (in the case of a straightforward SDL...

    Accessing Data In Nand Memory

Try cycling the power and going there with the "game" menu. It can take a while. Every once in a while I have the same symptom but cycling the power seems to fix it.

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

Nah, it's on a 90nm process, probably draws the same or less current as the gp2x processor. Here's an info sheet if you're curious: http://www.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/f...C9328MX31FS.pdf

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

Well, since all we have are speculation and rumor, let's try to guess which SoC it's based on! The aforementioned MMSP2+ is probably a contender. Dual CPU (360 and 300 mhz arm9), 1 million polygon/sec 3d accelerator. The dual-processor thing was pretty much a bust for the gp2x, but sticking...

Maybe they are. I know I'm not, but that doesn't mean anything.

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

Yeah. If GPH wasn't completely uninterested in their own product, they could actually re-launch a "re-imagined" gp2x (without actually changing the hardware at all) by building a slick iTunes-clone instead of using wifi. That would require them actually talking to devs and users, and building...

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

For any device you hope to sell, you find a target market and the marketing message which convinces people to buy it and hopefully make the best device for that target. If the reason to buy this device is so you can download romz and play them, then the device should have great emulator support...

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

There have been recurring threads on desired features of a gp2x successor for at least a year and a half; I thtink almost everything that can be said has already been said, and was most likely taken carefully into account.

Craigix Discloses Information On New Gp2x?

The main thing I notice from these discussions is that no matter what feature set is chosen, just about everybody will say "how stupid, how could they not include the flibberdingus? this will never sell!" At any rate, if these decisions have not already been made and if some running prototypes...

Good luck with the production of this device! Let us know the details when you can so there will be some software for it!

Here's one possible blurring scheme that I can use if I don't use texture maps. Using this method (which is basically the method that I said I wanted to do ideally) has too many cache misses when using a texture and is too slow, but looks pretty decent. http://dzzgames.com/nr6.gpe I have been...

Where did he say that? If they are still in the "collecting ideas" phase we won't be able to buy anything for a year. Which is okay, but it wasn't my impression from the hints.

QUOTE Would it be possible to do a quick dirty (self running) demo where you can roll a marble along a track + the space -background? I would like to see, how the marbles will look in their game environment. That's what I'm working toward... the track is really the "hard part" as it will...

I admire the amount of work that went into making this game. Did you use some libraries or did you do the 3D drawing, modeling, and animation yourself? If the camera was always behind the player (moving toward more vertical when a wall is in the way), that would make the game much more...

Well I haven't tested any blur options yet, but in case anybody is interested to see what the issue is, here's a version of the marble program with a maximum rotational speed that is about what I expect will be needed for the rolling distance to match the tracks: http://www.dzzgames.com/nr5.gpe
