    GP2X Thumb Life

I would be excited about a "tiny program" compo. I can see advantages and disadvantages for each of the possibilities: 1k demo Pro: 1k is very small which is cool Con: Results will not be visually impressive, insufficient code space to produce truly interesting effects 1k game Pro: 1k...

    Is It Time Yet?

I am one of the few who do not use emulators so I'm not sure how different their controls are, but I believe the only way this effort is going to bear fruit is if the makers of the most popular emulators get together and decide on interface standards and release versions that comply with those...

Poll: Mod A D-pad, Use Stock Joystick, Buy New Gp2x If Integrated D-pa

Note that the freeware Vektar has completely configurable controls for those who cannot get used to the defaults, and I assume the commercial version does as well (though I don't have the commercial version yet).

    Ver 1.5 Psp

No, i have a couple of games but none of them upgraded the firmware. I mainly got it to see what its 3D hardware could do, I'm pretty impressed with the graphics.

    Ver 1.5 Psp

I recently picked up a 1.5 PSP on ebay, it came with a carrying case, charger, 32MB memory card, and one game (FIFA 2006 I think, not a pirated game, it was the full thing). The price was $130. I actually didn't care if it was 1.5 or not as I'm not too interested in PSP homebrew, but it just...

A Beautiful Place For All Members To Chill

Please make all that junk not show up in the "new posts" list. I saw somebody mention that they knew this is a problem.... please don't forget.

    GP2X Random Numbers

Google knows about lots of algorithms for making "random" numbers. You do have a clock you can access to seed an algorithm, it's register address 0x0A00

    Congratulations Mods

That thread did seem to keep a lot of the useless crap in one place, and was easy to ignore; now the people who can't resist posting garbage will do so more often in other threads which is not desirable.

    Firmware 2.1.0 Demo

I doubt that we will "lose" the MMU hack, the question is whether they will include something that does what the MMU hack does into the unit itself instead of having the code be part of apps. I would think it's kind of tricky because it will break as many apps as it speeds up.

A Lot Of Xgp Kids Information

Any thoughts from the beta testers? Also: I don't have a gp32 so to somebody who does: Besides the screen resolution, what's the difference between this machine and a gp32? Looks like roughly the same processor, same memory, same operating system... is this machine basically a gp32 with a...

GP2X Vincent Opengl Es 1.1 Implementation

Go for it! A few people have some more-or-less working 3D code but releasing a library for general use is a different matter entirely. I know I have no plans to do that.

The Ultimate Comprehensive Review Of The Gp2x Handheld (videos + Pictu

Different people like different things, so every product gets a bad review sometimes. We know from what some people post here that others do have similar issues to those that the reviewer had. It could be because he's a clueless idiot, but then the clueless idiots that read his site might not...

Details Regarding The Xgp 2d/3d Accelerator

To be fair, I don't think anybody has said they are going to "ditch" their gp2x asap for the xgp (which isn't the same thing as "everybody"). I personally am interested in all machines, and the possibilities of an open platform with a nice graphics accelerator are worth having a look at...

    Gp2x With A D-pad.

Re: diagonals, I still want to see it for myself though (hope that's okay :) ). Your solution to the stick click sounds fine to me; it will be a lot easier for a kit if DaveC incorporates the connections into his board, I don't know if that is included right now. Yeah, the power requirements...

    Gp2x With A D-pad.

Obviously (being lazy) I want to believe this but I just am not sure without seeing it with my own eyes. By "compatible" I mean compatible with the hardware, to make sure that functionality is not lost. I will give you some examples: 1. Stick click. Besides the fact that some people LIKE the...

GP2X Vincent Opengl Es 1.1 Implementation

You could check out the Edge library: http://www.edgelib.com/ Various people are playing with their own homemade 3D code (including me), but making a well-rounded library with a documented (or worse: compatible with some standard) interface isn't everybody's idea of fun. I haven't seen any...

    Gp2x With A D-pad.

My opinion is that if we're going to bother with making this chip at all, it should be fully functional which includes the stick button, and that doing so is worth the small extra cost (less than a dollar certainly) of a slightly larger microcontroller. I'd been planning to use the atmega88 but...
