GP2X Simple Way To Protect Assets?

by using read-modify-write procedures you one can easily enlarge the memory usage of a program, the decrypted version of the bitmap will have to be stored in anonymous ram pages (malloced, not mmaped, mem so anonymous pages will remain in memory if not accessed), in the other hand you can...

    1gb Sd-wifi Card Looks Interesting

I think that's expensive because it's new... there's little advantage by having it wireless which certainly don't worth that money, BUT, when you're travelling in a foreign country (just for example, it could be another city) and you need to unload your shiny new pictures, it's probably easier...

    I Love The Device....but...

I totally agree GP2X rocks when it comes to emulation, but it's just a expensive brick when you try to play videos... and I've tried lots of codec combinations, no deal.. let's just face it

How Much Would You Pay For A D-pad Pre-modded Gp2x?

when you start to sell these, see how much it takes to send a kit to Brazil, I'm interested for sure! mine will be the first mcu-controlled centre-push

    Super Gp2x Mod Project Underway

no, there should be not problem if you connected it correctly that would mean you should _solder_ it to the board, not hot glue-ing it as contacts will likely loss it's contact or have noisy bad contact sooner or later, specially if it gets too hot inside the case soldering/desoldering is not...

    GP2X Frame Buffers?

oh this explains a lot of things I'll try that (altough I'm quite sure I'm not the man for developing a page-flipping ISR module, but anyway..)

    Super Gp2x Mod Project Underway

CNC router is a terribly expensive machine that can be used to develop almost any kind of shape, the only case I've seen someone using this is a million dollar's machine that is used to make powerful forged connecting rod for hi performance cars... I think that CNC routers for plastic would be...

    GP2X Frame Buffers?

yeap, your hack became a module, which in my opinion is much more clean than that hack that really deserves the name 'hack' on the first release of squidge-hacked Drmd it was halting my gp2x all the time, and it halted the whole system not just the application, I was really suspecting about...

    GP2X Frame Buffers?

that's my point squidge! one side claim to use just one cpu by using that interrupt and save a lot of battery, but by this way you _must_ develop kernel-sided the other side (mine) say to try using the second cpu, that can be ISR drived or by polling, don't matter at all... even why I didn't...

    GP2X Frame Buffers?

using an ISR routine would have to get kernel-sided. that's the bad thing. unless someone developed a driver to handle vsync, but that should be not application specific (IMO) also, one can easily save the bus by doing a simple dummy loop for like, 400hz (vsync won't toggle twice that fast)...

Poll: Mod A D-pad, Use Stock Joystick, Buy New Gp2x If Integrated D-pa

I don't know exactly what _exactly_ is that "paper masking tape", but if it is what I think it is, at least here in the third world does leave glue where you applied before... but perhaps we're talking about different brands or different tapes, who knows? and I'm not talking about liquid glue...

    GP2X Programming New Gp2x Bootloader

I don't think debugging kernel-sided things is the easiest thing in the world, specially when you're not able to telnet (right about now I'm not capable 'cuz I'm using a 2.4 series linux) and is even unable to determine what's the exact reason for that (I've tried all combinations of...

Poll: Mod A D-pad, Use Stock Joystick, Buy New Gp2x If Integrated D-pa

didactical would be something like learnful/instructive something that you read/see and learn with it, as we learned how someone can install a d-pad on a stick based hh so I think there's nothing to do with moral, but a lot with instructive probably by playing in a d-padded gp2x would convince...

    GP2X Programming New Gp2x Bootloader

Getting rid of Linux could be an awesome thing for me :) I mean, everytime I play any xvid on my gp2x, after 1 or 2 minutes the video stops and system halts (sometimes only the application halts, sometimes the whole operating system) On a new OS one could make a standard interface to be used by...

    GP2X Programming New Gp2x Bootloader

wouldn't be easier and specially safer to just develop a module that shut down linux and boot your new os? then someday you start developing a bootloader that loads your OS the same way the module does... all you have to do is get kernel-sided, remount everything as read-only and wipe all linux...

    GP2X Frame Buffers?

couldn't it be possible to write a simple procedure to page flip framebuffers on vsync for the second processor? the code could be so small that would fit in the 4kb program cache, and after it's done the processor could put itself back into sleep (perhaps the processor could even run on a very...

    Drmd Source Code Released

outstanding job, it's so sad that you're leaving I think everybody is grateful to you big time! Since I've got my gp2x your emulator always taken place on my SD card, as for me it's by far the most enjoyed piece of software on this console, I was even capable of playing california games with 4...

Poll: Mod A D-pad, Use Stock Joystick, Buy New Gp2x If Integrated D-pa

I didn't ever owned a MK-I but MK-II still have the same dead-zone which can prevent you from reacting fast from left to right or up to down, and this is such a drag.... also mine almost stopped working left stick push, but stick's grip is okay unless you start to suede since MK-I stick has...

    Mk3?

afaik this third batch is the same MKII gp2x but with usb host power on EXT port they started to sell these in middle july/06, perhaps it has(have?) a different version number in Info menu, don't recall exactly where I've read about this July story.. and a D-pad is far beyond a stick when...

    Battery

as I've said before, 3.6V my gp2x runs ok, I think most if not all do it, I just can't say "go ahead and try it" because in some (possibly rare) case of gp2x-frying I'm not the one to be blamed.. I think the best choice would be buying a 9v-batt connector and then solder it on AA batteries'...
