    Inimaker

INImaker 0.2 is now available, see the first post for download and screenshots. This update has the option to find icons for .ini files that don't have them, by checking the respective game's folder for any .png images if a default one was not found. The interface is also a little more pleasant now.

    Gp2x Sdhc And Firmware

I recommend Open2x, not only will you get SDHC support but also faster boot time (than 3.0.0) and a lot of other nice perks like global volume control :) Make sure you read and understand all the instructions properly before flashing it: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/gp2x.cgi?0,0,0,0,42,2751

    Inimaker

It picks up .png icons that have the same name as the .gpe file. This was the convention in the GP2X days, and the firmware menu and Gmenu2x both expected this. So just rename the icons for App.gpe to App.png and they will show up in all the links :)

    Inimaker

Updated June 26 INImaker is a small application that creates .ini files for all applications that are in the SD card's game folder. It tries to avoid overwriting or creating duplicate .ini files if they already exist. Just put it on your SD and launch it. Download it from the archive.

I will make an automatic INI file generator, will post it soon :)

    New 1.1.0 Firmware Out

I have just updated without problems. I have also tried the MAME4ALL autorun, and it runs correctly. It runs at the first system boot, but the correct behaviour would be launching autorun.gpu each time gp2xmenu starts. They could then make it like on the GP2X, where holding Menu+Select pressed...

    New 1.1.0 Firmware Out

Upgrage complete, sadly they did not fix the autorun issue. Hopefully it will show up in a later patch, I doubt it would take the guy that's responsible for the menu code more than ten minutes to sort out... I can't say that I notice the longer boot time, the difference must be negligible.

    Screen Tearing Issue Fix?

Exophase is right, switching to portrait mode from landscape can be non-trivial. For programs that consist of sprites and backgrounds this is simple, but for things that take advantage of the portrait mode pixel order this change can ruin everything. Honestly I hope that GPH can force SDL apps...

    Gp2x Wiz Charging Time

Do new charging cables work with old Wizes, or did GPH make some changes besides the cosmetic ones? Most people seem to report 3-5 hour charging times, which are about three times less than what it takes my old model from November.

    Falldown For Wiz

Falldown is too awesome for any platform to escape it! I first played it on the TI-86, couldn't resist not making a version myself :) I toyed with a versus-AI mode about one year ago, with the screen split in half vertically (you would have had to outlast the AI ball to win). Now I'm thinking...

Rock Rain & Escape From Minos, First Port To Wiz

Escape from Minos plays so much better with the dpad than with the GP2X's stick, thanks for bringing it to the Wiz. A really nice game with great pixel art. I keep losing in Rock Rain... The blocks keep falling into single columns, and eventually I end up stuck between them with no way to climb...

    Falldown For Wiz

I ported my GP2X Falldown game to the Wiz :) The aim is to keep the ball from reaching the top of the screen by guiding it through the openings as it falls down. Many thanks go to TymPanic Productions for the killer music. Get it from the archive If you like this game, check out my other...

Programming On The Pandora For Mortals

Haha, isn't that the truth :) I can't imagine working in anything else but C now, even for very small and simple things - the amount of code wouldn't be any larger or less readable than in 'quick' languages either, with the useful bonus of having total control over everything that moves. I'm...

GP32 Gpsurfaceflip And Gpsurfaceset Take 24ms

Thanks Reesy! That's disappointing to hear about the SDK. I wonder how the GP32's official games managed this, perhaps they used memcpy too  I'm surprised I did not see this issue discussed more on these boards, I guess almost everyone used Mr Mirko's libraries. Thanks for the...

It's indeed unfortunate, perhaps one of the reasons why feedback on software is so sparse.

GP32 Gpsurfaceflip And Gpsurfaceset Take 24ms

Thank you very much Trooper! (and mikey too :-) This is weird, it means that achieving 60fps with 16bit graphics at default clock speed is impossible - I doubt this is true. I'm still trying to find out what I'm doing wrong, especially since changing the clockspeed in gpstart.c to 133MHz makes...

    What Is The Point...

I think early pre-production firmwares had the ability to add events to calendar days, and also a simple notepad with touch-screen keyboard. The problem was that they saved everything on NAND, and when you upgraded your firmware everything got wiped. It would be nice if GPH brought these apps...

    What Are Gph Like?

What's wrong with the touchscreen? It's unobtrusive at worst, and in reality a cool new input method that I wish the first GP2X had too. Did you play Space Varments? If not you should, it alone is enough to justify the touchscreen :)

    Wizxylophone 1.0.4

Thanks for the fun homebrew, this is what it's all about :) I think it would be really nice if you could slide the stylus over multiple claps and have them all play naturally without needing to tap each one separately.
