    Stuck at wl1251_sdio mmc2:0001:1: firmware: requesting wl1251-fw.bin

Problem solved! YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSS! AWLRIGHT! I'm so happy right now! My Pandora is not broken! What a relief! :D

    A2DP, please? Pretty please?

Oops! I forgot to attach didn't I? I'll do that later today when I grab a free moment again. The scripts are so simple you might even end up using your own anyway. Examples are always nice though. ALSA has to be told. There are others that are very plug-n-play. ;)

    Stuck at wl1251_sdio mmc2:0001:1: firmware: requesting wl1251-fw.bin

Good idea, didn't think of that. (Duh!) I'll try an older version of the wireless drivers. I'll try some of the tags in git and see if I hit a magic combination. Thanks for the pointers! It helped! :)

    Stuck at wl1251_sdio mmc2:0001:1: firmware: requesting wl1251-fw.bin

Clarification: I'm looking for advice on what it can and can't be. Could it be a hardware bug? Could it be a software misconfiguration? Any ideas on which piece might be causing this issue?

    A2DP, please? Pretty please?

I've got it working. All it does really is swap .asoundrc files depending on what you want. The problem with this setup is (at least in my experience) you have to reboot the bluetooth service if your headset drops the connection, since ALSA has a terrible time recovering. PulseAudio, I might...

    Stuck at wl1251_sdio mmc2:0001:1: firmware: requesting wl1251-fw.bin

Wireless stopped working. I'm not sure what happened, but here's what I know: a friend of mine saw my Pandora and, being an engineer himself, was interested and asked if he could hold it. He played with the nubs and the keyboard, and then clicked the shoulder buttons rapidly. Now, at the time I...

    What are you developing?

viridior and I are working on Neuvoo, which is Gentoo for armv7a devices, including the Pandora. We're so close to a working GUI release it's crazy. Videos soon. :)

Have You Encountered Any Defects On Your Pandora So Far?

Thankfully it's just the SD2 light, so I can get by without yet another RMA. Ever since I got my replacement, my experience has gone from neutral to wonderfully positive. :)

    Customizing A Distro For Pandora

Thanks notaz! Digging through git.openpandora.org has revealed a lot of answers all by itself, as you suggested. Is there a way I can avoid using the pndevmapperd tool? Something like xbindkeys perhaps?

    Customizing A Distro For Pandora

I'm having a few issues right now: Xorg.conf is nearly blank in the official firmware, with a comment that everything is autodetected via HAL. This makes sense, and certainly makes Xorg easy. Except vanilla HAL (at least the one Gentoo comes with) is not prepared to detect the analog nubs as...

    Gentoo Stories

Wow, your xorg.conf and Xmodmap are just what the doctor ordered. What are the sources for those? Also, I noticed the official Pandora xorg.conf relies heavily on HAL for auto-detection and configuration of just about everything, and obviously seems to work. Do you know what extra HAL rules...

Are these changes pushed into the kernel sources?

    Gentoo Stories

I'm also a Neuvoo developer, and slightly concerned there's another independent branch of effort being made. However, this is the way of Linux: everyone has their ideas and works on them the way they like them. Gentoo is even more so all about doing things the way you want. Neuvoo used to offer...

Have You Encountered Any Defects On Your Pandora So Far?

One of my LEDs don't work on my replacement Pandora. We'll see if there are any more faults.

    Sssshh, that's too easy. ;)

    Beta Calibre (V0.6.55)

Can't guarantee it will be stable, but it's worth a try. :) Wonderful. Just what I needed. Sure. It's not easy, especially if the package in question has to be told its prefix at compile-time. (Calibre is just fine being put into any random folder on the system, thankfully.) I don't see how this...

    Beta Calibre (V0.6.55)

Sort of accidentally, I'm working on porting Calibre to the Pandora. I'm using Gentoo on a BeagleBoard to generate the binaries, which I then package and ship in a PND. (Someone asked on IRC if Calibre would work on ARM processors, so I compiled and ran it, and said it would, and then realized...

Pandora Converting Angstrom Apps To Pnds

Thanks a bunch for this guide. This is going to help me convert Gentoo-built packages to the Pandora PND format as well. :) This isn't true for all applications. I was working on calibre, and HOME= only worked for some things, but not for .config

    Man Page Usage Debate

Interesting responses so far. I'm falling down on the side of "allow easy install later" myself. Everyone gets what they want in the end. You've got a point. I'll avoid them in the future. irc.freenode.net, and you can get quick-n-easy access by logging in via java.freenode.net.

    Man Page Usage Debate

We're having a bit of a debate on #openpandora about how many users use the terminal, and whether man pages are a good idea to include by default or not. So, vote away, and feel free to reply if your vote isn't descriptive enough!
