    The Lottery and Gambling Thread

Thanks for the info. I would prefer the incognito-method under any circumstances. And afaik here in germany, if you win big money in a lottery, they send you experts that consult you what you should and not should do with the money and the communication about. Hey, if you win big with the...

    The Lottery and Gambling Thread

Is it still common in the USA, that winners of big lottery money are made public? I mean, the last thing I want is that everybody knows I won a gazillion monies. But I'm not from the USA. Here in germany it's common and absolutely recommended that nobody knows who exactly won the fortune. In...

    Happy New Year 2022

Happy new year! I guess that the majority of fireworks accidents are still happen by illegal stuff from Poland and other countries that sell fireworks without proper "CE" license. Interesting to see if the accidents are less or the same compared to non-corona years. I'm curious how the...

Christmas Update - what happened 2021 and what will happen 2022

It's good to see that at least the Pyra production is not (yet) directly affected by all these Covid related issues that bother basically the entire economy worldwide. I always believed that a solid Storage of parts is better than the common "just in time" process that get broken as soon as...

    Phytium-based ARM PC

Yeah, proper cooling and air flow in compact Computers is almost an art. I guess the GPU produces the most heat, the ARM CPU alone should be compared tame. Still could need a better Fan. I find it impressive what Apple was able to squeeze out of an 10W SoC, even with an powerful integrated GPU...

    Phytium-based ARM PC

That's sad. So it is not really suited as an quiet office machine. They could have engineered a better cooling solution than just two tiny little fans for sure. I see some potential in improving that part, maybe a big, quiet fan over all parts instead of two tiny, loud ones or so.

    Phytium-based ARM PC

I got the newsletter from ED, totally forgot this thread. ^^ This Mini PC even made it into the german heise-news: https://www.heise.de/news/Phytium-D2000-Mini-PC-mit-chinesischem-Achtkern-Prozessor-und-Radeon-GPU-6267566.html I still have no clue about this "Phytium D2000 ARMv8" CPU and how...

    F300 ?

Well, it was so long time ago. Do you remeber we were actualy neighbours in Minecraft fo a while back then? ;) I remember the GP2X since I have one but I forgot the "special" education variant actualy...and I wanted to make a joke. ;) Which is basicly the Ford F-150 and F-300 anyways. xD

    PinePhonePro

I mainly thought about full hardware support like "normal" Smartphones have in between their OS and their hardware. I can imagine that this is not so easy with an open Linux OS and mobile phone hardware. But if it works without much hassle, then it's a good thing for sure.

Always good when you can play Factorio! Since I have no real compare in the ARM world, how does Factorio run on an Raspberry Pi (4) for instance? Also stable playable?

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

Some insights! Interesting, looks like the Steam Deck has alot of boards inside and also alot of different sized screws. Which is great for manual disassembling but not so great for mass production I guess. Or in other words: it looks expensive to produce. Which makes the targeted price even...

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

I guess it's more about usability and "niche" topics than money. For instance: we can expect that the Steam Deck "just works" when it comes out. You can use it like a PC and play your beloved PC Games on it. Unlike Pandora and Pyra. So of course this comparison is actually a little bit unfair...

And even GPD & Co. get a ton more attention than the Pyra. The world is unfair. ;)

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

Wy do we have 2 Steam Deck Threads? Is there a reason or could both be merged? So we don't have to watch 2 different threads about the Valve Handheld - for practical reasons.

Valve launching Steam Deck - SteamOS Handheld Console

Well, I was a SEGA Fanboy back then and had a Master System but I never ever had a Game Gear in my hands, and I didn't even knew anyone with such a device (they all had Gameboys back then). But I know that the GG was basicly a portable Master System, there were even Adapter cards where you could...
