Assembly restart. Software work. And maybe our next SoC?

When I see all these 3rd party Pi cases with passive or active cooling, yes, It definitely needs some cooling. Does that mean, the RK3568 SoC can bring the same performance as an Broadcom BCM2711, but produces less heat? This would be very...cool.

Assembly restart. Software work. And maybe our next SoC?

I don't own a Raspberry Pi 4 but through various Videos about, I have a slightly guess how capable it can be. For its price, the Pi4 is a very usable Mini Computer. No wonder the Raspi is so popular for Emulation & Co., the users can get alot out of it. Except proper HW video acceleration it...

Assembly restart. Software work. And maybe our next SoC?

Interesting news. I'm very curious about the actual performance of the Rockchip SoC, compared to the OMAP 5. I'm not familiar with Rockchip but I know they are used alot in various (mobile) devices. I'm sure it will be faster, but will it be also more easy to handle? I hope for better software...

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

Of course someone had to trie this: xD The most interesting thing for me here was the actual adapter solution he successfully used. Impressive. There seems to be Adapters for everything those days. ^^

Mekotronics R58X Rockchip RK3588 running Debian

When I read about all these interesting SoCs I usualy want to know two things: Would they be suitable for future Pyra upgrades? AND do they have full hardware support under Linux for task X (mainly Video decoding, 3D acceleration, power savings - just all the standard stuff )?

    GPD WIN MAX ANNOUNCED

GPD Win Max 2 Announced: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-7-6800u-gpd-win-max-2 Comes in two tastes: with Intel Core i7-1280P or with AMD Ryzen 7 6800U. The AMD version is the more exiting one for sure, thanks to a beefy Radeon 680M RDNA2 iGPU. I really want to see alot of...

    War in Ukraine

Usually, nothing is pure black+white in the world but in this case it's pretty clear imho. Or do you really want to defend Putin in any ways? I say Putin, not Russia, because it's basically his private war and everyone suffers from it. Basically all just because he has a problem with Democracy...

    War in Ukraine

As always, "freedom of speech" ends where lying and insulting of others begins. Except in the USA maybe. There is no valid argument to rely on RT, especially not in those days, sorry. You quote RT, a Russian Government Propaganda Channel in times of war, where the exact same Russian government...

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

The actual Steam Deck body is not that thick imho, maybe the hand grip area make it look bulkier than the Aya Neo? At the end it depends on how comfortable the device lays in the hands. I have no access to the Steam Deck but from the pictures these rounded corners and sloped palm area look...

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

Well Ok, but for the price of a OneXPlayer I also can buy an entire Gaming PC or Laptop or almost 3 Steam Decks. ;) Valve has an good argument and this is the price. And of course it's Valve and their Software background, infrastructure and support. And we still are waiting for a Chinese...

Steam Deck (using SteamOS) handheld by Valve

It could be difficult for all these many PC Handhelds that are so much more expensive than the Steam Deck. But yes, competition is good anyways. Valve recently has released the CAD files for the case. So everyone can use and modify it, neat. :)...

    Phytium-based ARM PC

This looks promising indeed. So does the CPU run it on raw power or does it have "some kind of" HW acceleration? I know there are still some issues with HW acceleration of various browsers under Linux too, Firefox for instance. BUT - I've also read that there are various browser-plugins for...

    Phytium-based ARM PC

Thanks for the explanation. I just thought, the Pi Community is so big (compared to this Phytium device here), there already should be proper drivers for basically everything. I didn't thought that HW Acceleration under Linux is still an issue in 2022 or so. At least it sounds like the modern...

    Phytium-based ARM PC

The main question for me to buy such a small Computer device would be: can it run Youtube 1080p Videos in 60FPS without any hiccups? Not even the latest Raspberry 4 can, for instance. Every cheap TV Stick can, for instance. Weird.

AYA Neo handheld Windows gaming pc

This guy has some hands on the new Aya Neo Next. Looks good and has power. But it will cost around 1200€ in the base version, 3x more than the Steam Deck. Again, very impressive how fast these Chinese companies throw out such devices. But everything has two sides, the Aya Neo from early 2021 is...
