MJ Ubuntu Tablet campaign has started

That's pretty much what the guys developing the KDE/Vivaldi Tablet had planned. It worked out right until the manufacturer changed large parts of the internals without telling the development team.

    "shashlik" android emulation layer

Hey everybody, a while ago I stumbled upon the "shashlik" project, which is, at least as I understand it, a kind of emulation layer to run Android apps on Linux. After that, I forgot about it since it was in a very early stage of development. Recently it got mentioned in one of the pyra...

    And suddenly it works.

Dude... have you ever heard of "Metal Dots" (although wikipedia calls them Metal umlaut)? I can't see how the most "metal" letters in the alphabet are not cool enough to appear on the keyboard! ;)

    Best Alternative to Windows (XP)

+1 for xubuntu! It's pretty lightweight and does everything I need for everyday use (mostly web-surfing, emails, editing photos). The only thing I've kept is MS Office (some older edition) since I sometimes have to work with Excel spreadsheets that don't import correctly in Libre Office. So I...

Music Makers - Share Your Music!

Here are some new Acid tracks: the third one is a collabo track with a friend... also Acid, but with some dub elements, I guess: please enjoy!

Thanks for listening & your feedback. :) You've got good eyes, the synth you've spotted is a Bass Bot TT-303, a TB-303 clone. Soundwise it's quite nice, but I still prefer the sound of my x0xb0xes.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

FF VII... bought it years ago on PSN to play it on my PSP... which was no pleasure to play at all because of the low resolution. A few weeks ago I bought a used PS Vita so I picked it up again. So far I'm enjoying it quite a lot... but not as much as Crono Trigger or FF VI on the SNES.

I just need to tell someone about this, I feel awful

A few months ago I killed my iPod Classic. Even though it was 7 years old it still worked perfectly, I had also installed Rockbox on it. Only thing that failed was the battery. So I ordered a replacement battery from iFixit. Unfortunately the whole procedure didn't work as supposed (it looked...

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

atm I'm playing OlliOlli quite a lot. Super frustrating at times but also a lot of fun. And also one of the few games that run on Linux/Steam. https://www.youtube.com/embed/dhsRFNR4-WM?feature=oembed A Pandora port would be neat, but it's not open source.

Thanks for the hint regarding the ice-world link, should be correct now. Also a big thank you for checking out my music, glad you like it! :) you're right about the tracks not being modules. That's where I started, though (1995 using OctaMED on the Amiga). The "Delibrium" stuff was made using...

So here's some some stuff I've made. It's mostly (pretty oldschool) Acid/Acidtrance: At the end of all things (Acidtrance): http://www.myownmusic.de/x0xb0xr0ck3r/play/?songid=378706 Pulse (Acid / Chillout): http://www.myownmusic.de/x0xb0xr0ck3r/play/?songid=350507 We call it Acidtrance...

    Aluminium Case being made!

I'd be interested in an aluminum case if it includes a redesign of the hinge. One thing that bothers me a lot with the original case is the way the display snaps in at 180°, so if it'd also snap in at about 120-140° I'd be a happy camper.

    The case of the case.

Sorry, I didn't realize that the financial planning on the Pyra was _this_ tight. So it seems things are settled, then.

    The case of the case.

Since the issue seems to be more about the position of the buttons (and how easy they are to reach in a given layout) and not about the action of the buttons themselves (how hard they are to press), I think 3d-printing only the cases with dummy keys & buttons would be sufficient. My suggestion...
