Closing the lid just turns the screen off (by default). I'm talking about the sleep state when the power switch is flicked.
I'd appreciate that.
I'm trying to replicate the alarm clock functionality on my hp200lx and stop using my cell phone as an alarm clock.
I'd like to write some scripts which can control the Pandora's wakefulness / standby state. Wake up and perform tasks at specific times, sleep/standby on specific events or times.
Is there software provided with the Pandora which I can send a particular time for the system to be brought out...
[edit] .. alright, formatting FAT did the trick. I'm going to write up some documentation for the process.

I'm trying to install SuperZaxxonB5a.zip
I read and understand the instructions. I believe I'm following them correctly.
With an empty newly-partitioned (ext2) SD card, I am unable to get "Boot from SD1" to show.
I have tried reformatting (ext3) according to the wiki's Formatting SD...

It's unusably slow for me, especially compared to Chromium. There's no way I could tolerate it.
Where can I get information on setting up a swap file? I'd expect it to be on the...
No need. A quality forum post / thread is just as good as a starter article in the wiki. It's trivial for me to sort things out. I just need the inclination to do so.

I have no idea offhand what versions of what I'm using.
A new beta has been released, so unless I switch to it I wouldn't be doing any helpful testing. I'm going to keep using whatever stable stuff shipped with my Pandora.
It's working fine for me with the stock bootup, from a 1 month old Pandora.

I'm trying to think of individual keys which can be rotated.. and that makes no sense to me.
Can you find a link or video or something which demonstrates this? Perhaps a device name or model number?
You'd have far more speed improvements using a faster browser than adding RAM.
Chromium is _very good_ for general purpose browsing.
If you wanted just quick reading, then links2 is great.
There are a lot of other browser choices..
Linux, the distribution, is the de facto name used. The name grab is pointless. GNU software for an OS _is_ complete crap and I welcome every replacement effort, especially everything in coreutils.
GNU software can be relegated to gcc and the history books.
