Nothing to show, but a lot happened.

I mean touch-typing with thumbs.  I don't think anyone would put the pandora down on a table to use their fingers. Basically every single thing you mentioned I feel the exact opposite to.  Except:  I too would like a separate tab key.  A compose key also sounds nice.  Even though I don't type...

Nothing to show, but a lot happened.

I think it's a combination of you finding a good fit for your hands and tastes, and I'd bet you haven't been spoiler by a really excellent keyboard. I'm surprised you've been able to type that much.  Shocked, really.  There has never been optimal lighting where I can actually see the writing on...

Nothing to show, but a lot happened.

I'm really glad the Pyra is incrementally improved.  If it had the exact same keyboard as the Pandora, I wouldn't want to buy it.  It really is a terrible experience that makes me not want to use the device. I personally would pay the extra money for a superb keyboard, but I'm still pleased at...

The day the Pandora goes even more open

I must magnify that 1/3 height text to the maximum of what Firefox can zoom to read it like regular text.

The day the Pandora goes even more open

Small text is small. Small is not readible.

Nothing to show, but a lot happened.

I like the idea of hard flat (matte?) buttons.  Hopefully they will be readible .. with light in the room.  Right now they're impossible to see without horrible glare. I know this has been mentioned in the past, but it bears mentioning again for this new device.  I've always wished the pandora...

[Mostly SOLVED] - Installation of XMMS and Bluetooth settings?

First off, I tinkered with this nonsense and got a solution which includes proper volume control. It also includes crashes when fast-forwarding, stopping or exiting. Yay. http://boards.openpandora.org/topic/15193-bluetooth-headsets-a-partly-working-solution//URL] If any of you are interested...

    bluetooth headsets, a partly-working solution

All of this would be magically handled, with no user intervention, if only alsa were updated. http://boards.openpandora.org/topic/15192-update-alsa-or-the-kitten-gets-it/ To get straight to the point, here's a replacement ~/.asoundrc to force a newly-opened alsa-using application to play to an...

update alsa, or the kitten gets it

bluetooth headsets don't work properly, and require user-intervention to partly-work. At best, only some applications work, and what does work is still semi-broken. From what I can tell, alsa needs to be updated: Update alsa. Or I will pet a kitten every hour until you do.

Pandora Wiki always asking for Password

This still isn't fixed? I'm not going to edit the wiki with that nonsense in place. [edit]What the hell, it's inconsistent now.  Ugh, I'm tolerating it..

    Release SuperZaxxon Final released!

I confirm this bug. -- I have the same usage pattern I had when using previous betas. So this seems to be new to the last beta or the final release. - The Pandora is on. - Plug the adapter into it. - Slide the power lever to put it to sleep. - When I return, sometimes it's already...

    Release PNDManager

Random ideas, I only used some old version of the manager and just once, so they could be invalid. Perhaps only fetch recent comments? (If there are many comments - I can see old comments mattering if there's not much activity.) Perhaps separate the comments out so that only comments on...

Alarm clock functionality - sleep and wakeup via scripts

I know. I was. =) Could still be related to how I was running it as root, or some other wackyness. I need more time to test.

    Release SuperZaxxon Final released!

What happens if you fiddle with the CPU settings minimum setting? Maybe raising that CPU minimum could help? Aside from certain software testing, there's no reason to want to lower the CPU below its normal operation. (underclock), so this would probably be a workaround for you. You would...

Alarm clock functionality - sleep and wakeup via scripts

Thanks again for the advice. I've been playing with it, and I have much more playing to do. -- For others following this thread who are interested, something is broken - I have not spent any time investigating yet. \echo $( \date '+%s' -d '+ 10 seconds' ) > \...

    Release SuperZaxxon Final released!

Other keyboard shortcuts were working fine - it was only the ones where I had a hotkey run a script. I thought perhaps pnd_run had been updated and the commandline usage was different, breaking my scripts. This is not true. I went into the keyboard settings. For each application shortcut...

app to test microphone apart audacity?

Thanks for mentioning http://pandorawiki.org/Audio_system#Recording For the wiki, microphone testing is part of a general overview which has a lot of other test procedures I'll be working on. It's often hard to find things on the wiki without getting lucky with keywords. I'll end up...

Reddit is talking about the Pandora... They seem to not like it very much

I think back to my early computers.. combine them all, take every program I've ever used.. every document I've ever read. I can now hold all of it in one hand. For that, the Pandora is cheap. Most people who are first exposed to the Pandora and react negatively are youngsters. These are...
