Elite was fun back in the days but i would not play it anymore. As for minecraft it does not interest me either but in multiplayer maybe its like a giant sandbox.
Did you see the latest Ubuntu convergence demo though ? it can switch between a desktop mode and a tablet mode seamlessly, a thing that iOS and Android can only dream of doing at this stage...
Do they have drivers for all the hardware they plan to have inside for Linux ?
The surface from Microsoft can run Linux too but there are many patches required to make about everything work more or less.
At least with the Pyra you know Linux will be properly supported from the get-go.
Indeed very unlikely that any of them can provide proper emulation for both machines. PS2 may be a LITTLE more likely, but still challenging - even on modern Intel CPU + GPU it's sometimes a stretch, and the OMAP5 is not as powerful anyway.
Who wants that bullshit game anyway where everything is procedurally generated and has an infinite amount of (empty) planets ?
I'd rather buy a game which is carefully crafted instead.
If we are doing requests, well i have one :) being able to switch mode between "lid close screen off < - > lid close low power mode" with a mini-icon setting in the task bar instead of having to go in the menus. (because this is something i do very often).
You can't port OpenGL 3 code to the Pandora, unless you have a wrapper that can help with that to GLES 2.0 code. Even glshim only takes care of fixed pipeline for now, so it's probably not feasible at this stage.
I have an iphone 6 for work and everytime you charge it it switches on too... what kind of retarded crap is that.
Obviously you probably don't have the details figured out yet, but do you have roughly some idea how time there would be between the time the preorders take place and when the...
Yes will do - the major stuff that is worth the update for me is the GPU driver not crashing when going in low power mode - this is amazing :)
Thanks!
I forgot to mention it's been 3 years!
Definitely. But I'm not sure that's the key appeal of the Pyra. On the hardware/software side, the Pyra will pretty be much like a portable desktop experience, making it a much more capable computing device than the Pandora ever was. Sure, it might not be that much better for gaming for the...
There's pi-top but it looks clunky and cheapos...
The problem with the raspberry pi is that its form factor is awful for this kind of purpose - it does not fit in anything "flat" because of the way its USB ports are stacked up.
