    Xgp, Xgp-mini Hardware Selection Polls

I guess I prefer the 480x276 because it's a kind of middle ground. It's long enough to be able to port useful, visible 640x480 programs/games on it, but standard enough to keep the price bearable. And I appriciate the work done on emulators. It's the community that idolizes them that bothers me.

    Xgp, Xgp-mini Hardware Selection Polls

640x480 would be way too expensive. I went with the widescreen because I am not crazy about making sure the aspect ratio with emulators is exact. AND I don't care if the screen is stretched. Plus, the widescreen is good for reading text files, viewing websites (via XGP's wifi), and the...

    GP2X Rpg Engine For Gp2x

You must have misunderstood me. I meant that making a really really good game in ZZT takes almost the same effort as coding an ok game because ZZT's limitations enable users to be more creative in their games. Not that I'm advertising, but you should check out how amazing some ZZT games look...

    GP2X Rpg Engine For Gp2x

Someone should make a minimalistic GCS like ZZT (on my signature). Sure, I know how to program games for GP32 and stuff, but I still would rather make games for ZZT, a 16 year old GCS, simply because I can make *better* games for it. Better as in it is easier to show a lot of effort in the games.

Complete Backup - How To Make...?

I'm not sure about this but can't you just copy and paste everything from your SD Card to your PC?

    Polls About The Xgp Kids

Maybe we can think of this as a redesigned GP32 with some upgrades (brighter screen, 4 buttons, SD card, possible d-pad), but at around half the price. And I'm no expert but even if they changed the screen to 320x240, how will the GPKids be compatible with the Gp32 if one used SMC and the other...

    Polls About The Xgp Kids

Well if the GP2X had a poll like this before it was released, don't you think it would look a little different maybe? It doesn't help GP if a bunch of people just say that they don't want to get it. This poll should only be for people that are/will be interested in buying the GPKids.

    Polls About The Xgp Kids

Wow. Unfortunately, the poll is starting to look biased. Obviously most people here like the GP2X, so that's probably why there are so many no's in the second question.

I would say don't request for upgraded specs. D-pad and screen resolution is enough.

How about short descriptions along with the games?

I Love The Idea Of The Gp2x..... But

You are never going to learn how to code an emulator unless you are REALLY REALLY dedicated. The updated GP2X's that are selling now have a joystick that is the best you can use.

I Love The Idea Of The Gp2x..... But

I don't think you should get a GP2X. You can get a SNES and a GBA for less money. GP2X is for someone that wants to try new things...

<_< Umm, you do know that everything you said agrees with the statement you quoted, right? Or were you agreeing with me?

Designing The Gp2x's Successor - Hardware Selection Poll

I'm not sure but the wifi chip doesn't have to be running all the time.. Ok yeah, I remembered that PS2 can't even run well on some high-end computers. But Dreamcast at least. Otherwise it would be too early to release a successor.

Designing The Gp2x's Successor - Hardware Selection Poll

Well, it's just my thoughts. I was going by the trends from 2001 to 2006. Why wouldn't new technology become the price of technology today and the technology of today wouldn't get cheaper? I'm sure that for some reason, Wifi chips, RAM, storage, etc, in 5 years will cost the same as it is...

Designing The Gp2x's Successor - Hardware Selection Poll

Ok, it looks like you guys are stuck in the present :). Here are my future predictions in 5 years: - SD cards will become obsolete by a cheaper, higher capacity alternative. Or possibly SD cards will have hard drive sized capacity at the same prices the 1 or 2 GB SD cards are today...

    Xgp Kids Specifications

Epicenter, adding those specs would just make an XGP Mini Mini. I'd guess the 320x240 would be the most useful (and dpad if it is cheaper). But think of it, the GP32 was selling at $180 even at the end of it's life. This thing has almost the same specs, but is less than half the price. And...

    Xgp Kids Specifications

I'm sure whatever "casual gamers" are out there will get it as long as GP has some games available for it. And if they do "get it", there will be a better chance of them buying it because of its price.
