    Vivaldi install

If you're like me, you received your Pyra after a long wait. An obvious thing to do is to get a good web browser on it. By consensus, that would seem to be Vivaldi, the same 32-bit ARM version used by the Raspberry Pi. This is what ED himself uses. I tried using a beginner's tutorial which...

    Protecting the pyra

Better late than never I suppose. I think word has gotten around about the screen protectors available on Amazon. I am here to report back that they do work with the stylus and everything. You'll easily go through the whole pack of them if you're not handy like me so I ultimately had to pay a...

    Pyra Unofficial Quick Reference

This thread doesn't get nearly enough traffic. The first thing I did when I got my Pyra was install Vivaldi. As of this writing, the latest stable Vivaldi works on the stock Pyra with Debian Buster. I'll make a thread about it later.

    Pyra without decent web browser?

I don't want to be that guy, but what's the best browser on the Pyra? Does anyone know the latest Vivaldi that works?

    Leather holster for the Pyra

Not super related, but the Grab-it Pack that was sold by ThinkGeek is due to be coming back soon on Kickstarter. It'd probably make a good holster.

New copper cases are finally being assembled

What did you do and was it effective?

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I've only seen it the other way around. I'm envious you have a clear case.

    Finally, a bit more news!

If the Pyra is to have a future, the sooner work begins on the new board, the better.

Assembly restart. Software work. And maybe our next SoC?

Do you think the Pyra with the Rockchip will ship by 2025?

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Are you sure the second one doesn't supersede the first one (the dates are weird however)? I vaguely remember that that's how it worked, but it's been so long. Since it doesn't work you'll want to get in contact with ED though he's kind of swamped.

Could the pandora / pyra / or next generation model be much thinner?

Upcycling old hardware isn't much of a real alternative and more like a stopgap measure. The way forward is with Raptor Engineering's Power9 for now and of course RISC-V in the future. When the Talos II motherboard first released, it was $2.5k and is now double that unfortunately.

    Protecting the pyra

If you search for "DragonBox Pyra Screen Protector" on Amazon, there's offerings from Synvy, Vaxson, and Puccy. In addition to the standard, there's also anti blue light and privacy screen options.

    Not a volcano... but...

Same here. The problem with a clear case is brittle plastic and light bleed. There's always smoked. I imagine more conventional colors that could be mooted are silver-gray, blue, or red.

Couldn't wait for my Pyra, so I bought a OMAP5432 devboard

Thank you for the work you are doing.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

HA HA HA!!! The clear cases which were prototypes that needed a bit of work are long gone. Of course I'd happily eat my words if some cases of the new production happen to be clear.

I had a leather holster made

Has anyone here received their Pyra and still have any interest in this idea?

    Touchscreen Calibration Issue

I don't want to open an entire new topic for this, and it does relate to the touchscreen. What's everyone doing in the way of screen protection?
