Could a Docker application be put inside a DBP? Seems like the best of both worlds. The author of the DBP package could then decide whether to use Docker or not. I imagine in some cases using Docker might be worth it while in other it might just be unnecessary overhead.
I was going to post this retort involving anti-monopoly laws, the gov.erm.ent and Mike-row-soft, but I'm kinda planing some vacations to the US at some point in the near future, so let's leave it at that.
Don't think anyone would let a complete stranger into their house, nevermind letting them get hold of the steak knife. One's house is a safe place, only people one knows and trusts are allowed in. Something similar could be said about one's computer systems.
Huh? Evaporation/condensation is exactly what makes a heat pipe efficient at conducting heat:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_pipe
What matters is that the system contains the working fluid at both its liquid and vapour forms at the working temperature. Consider a closed container partially...
That's what MS has to do to keep their competitive advantage. They get to set the pace for video card and game makers to follow, the faster the pace the more left behind the alternatives will be (ie. OpenGL, Linux, etc).
The Exagear setup on Pandora/Pyra is starting to get a bit silly, don't you think? xD

Maybe I forgot to mention, but the dpkg index would live inside the overlay as well. The idea is to make a chroot environment with the benefit of not having to duplicate anything that's already on eMMC. I also mentioned that probably one overlay per SD card would be needed.
dpkg would only see...
I'm trying to do a full reflash on a 1Ghz Pandora with SuperSaxxon version 1.61. I haven't done full reflash since SuperSaxxon 1.55 if that matters.
I can get the "Boot from SD1:1" option on the menu that shows while holding R button. But when I select it I get this:
reading boot.scr
5158740...
Ugh, you guys are just overcomplicating things. I want:
One overlay, install everything I want which can be safely installed in it. Packages which are not safe to keep in overlay would need to be installed to eMMC, of course.
Overlay is mounted as long as it is needed. Only when all...
I think you misunderstand. I didn't mean booting the system running from the overlay (that's just crazy xD).
I meant setting up an overlay somewhere on SD card, chrooting into it and then installing java, for example. Can't I later safely unmount the overlay and eject the SD card?
I certainly...
Let's say I want to install some DEB which happens to have a ton of dependencies. And I don't want to install it to eMMC due to space usage or to keep root fs clean.
Can't I create an overlay over the root fs, which redirects all modifications to a dir on SD card (assuming ext fs formatted SD...
Pandora and Pyra are pretty much the epitome of this:
https://xkcd.com/644/
Just give us the hardware (and a running Linux environment), and we (the community) will write the software.
Hopefully with Pyra the kernel and low level stuff will be a bit less obscure and difficult than as with...
Maybe something like that "breakout CPU board" that Nikolaus made to test the Pyra main board connected to the OMAP devboard might be interesting for 3rd parties. I imagine that some work might be needed to create something more consumer friendly, though.
Of course, would still be aimed more at...
Me and my friends had a special name for this operation: Performat.
Formatting (and reinstalling) in order to recover lost performance from "old" Windows installs. ;)
Actually, it's 3 steps for most programs:
Download
Install
Run
During the install step the program can copy files anywhere (and you can't easily know where), make modifications to the registry, etc. Basically you hand over control of your PC to the program installer. Then removing the program...
This is the point I was trying to get at. Just because hlidegp2x can't find someone else which thinks Pandora is worth it doesn't proof that such a person doesn't exist.
It's rather naive to extrapolate to the entire population from just what you see around you.
Despite what you may feel, I...
Wouldn't they want to slap their branding on it also? I mean, if they only make an x86 module then the device would still look like a Dragonbox Pyra from the outside.
