I am also excited for Soc Upgrade although i would prefer Quad over Quadlite as it seem to support H.265.
I know 4k is a bit overkill but i encoded some of my Bluray in H.265 and would be nice to stream them on my Pyra.
I can easily do it on my phone though which supports it so not really a deal...
Yep no point in redesigning boards at this stage.
To be honest the current CPU will be very appropriate for my needs for a while with either 2 or 4gb (4gb preferred if issue solvable)
Haha its a weird web series called Flanders Company about super heroes contracting super villains to pretend to beat them up and look good to the public (I did say it was weird).
For those who speak french they are working on new episodes after all those years. ;)
I know its lip-synced. Just...
We vote for a Tegra K1 cpu board for the next upgrade then!!!
Honestly I am happy with what the Pyra will be able to run right now. Everything from NES to Dreamcast and PSX
I was under the impression people implementing things were to have their own prototypes
I'm committed too but it would be nice to play with one a bit early. Even if the OS is not 100% ready it would still run a few things.
Wandering Pyra is a nice idea to actually get a feel for it before it is ready.
Like many said though things can go wrong in transport. Especially crossing the ocean and coming all the way here in Canada (Although i do order things oversee all the time without problems except a couple days...
Nice to see everything moving along. I would have hoped to get the Pyra before i fly home for Christmas vacation but i will be more happy to wait even a few months to make sure all the kinks are gone.
I don't write much but I've been following the progress steadily and i'm very excited to see...
Yeah it is nice to see someone put so much effort in attention to details. We can see ED wants the Pyra community to be happy about the product.
And everything will be easy to replace i love it!
We don't get this a lot these days.
PS: I do want it yesterday but i know everything has to be...
There are specialised store that sell niche devices like that but not where i live. I have seen some back in Quebec where my parent live so they might get a few copies i don't know.
I sure would keep the box if it look clean with a nice logo. Not if it looks like an infomercial with people...
Yep just a simple logo would look great on the box. Would draw attention to it if it does show up in stores people would get curious.
I usually ignore boxes that are too busy with pictures unless i have to find something specific. If i saw a small white box with that logo on it without knowing...
Hehe i had a very good monitor for mine i was lucky.
With the thing i posted you still need some kind of modulator that take analog input and usually generated on ch 3 or ch 4. Wont work from RCA output from things like Raspberry Pi
Edit:
Needs Something like this...
I don't understand German but i think they can't ship to Canada.
Found the Canadian version though
And not very expensive either. I'm getting one for sure
I don't mind either auto or manual brightness settings. Not a deal breaker either way.
On my android phone the auto brightness setting is very well implemented.
I use it mostly to see the screen when i go in the sun outside and not scorch my eyes when i look at it at nigh with all the lights...
Been following the Pandora and Pyra projects for a long while (Even before Pandora was a finish product :p) so i know what they can do. Just never got around to get a Pandora before (Money reason) but now i decided to get a Pyra.
Edit: Was actually gonna get a Pandora a while back but i found...
Yes that is one of the reason i will like the Pyra. The controls. What i meant is emulation on a regular phone is a pain because of touchscreen controls are imprecise. And to play with a BT gamepad you need a stand or something to keep the phone up on a table.
My laptop is a bit big and...
