Considering a Chromebook - don't laugh too hard.

Doesn't that make 2 options? Anyways, seems like you're in one of the rare situations that a chromebook would be useful. I've been using an ASUS laptop for the last year and the thing just never ceases to amaze me. And I've heard that ASUS also makes chromebooks, so I think you should...

    GPD WIN 2

Oh! Can we discuss its keyboard layout! Like, for ages? Hmm yeah, that kinda makes sense. I'm not a fan of "4K or literally unplayable" ideology either, I never understood all the hype surrounding 4K monitors and such.

    GPD WIN 2

How can it be "too high" though? Like, what disadvantage does 1080p has over 720p? (except battery consumption)

The World's Most Powerful Pocket-Sized PC

I see. But isn't having one of those chips more sensible than having, say, ARM? I mean, it looks like the whole point of the thing isn't much of a difference than the rest of the UMPCs, which is running regular computer software? Oh yeah, that'll keep your house warm in the winter :)

The World's Most Powerful Pocket-Sized PC

I thought all cherrytail processors were 64-bit? Or am I just mixing up terminology here?

With 2 batteries, yeah, probably not. That was never their marketing point anyways.

    GPD WIN 2

Well, I'm pretty sure there were smaller PDA's back in the 00's. The thing is, assuming the Pyra is out, there's not really that much of a market for the Pandora, other than economical reasons. But, well, maybe the Pyra is smaller than the GPD Win 2? I really don't know the size of the Pyra, and...

Yeah, my Pyra will be my new phone due to privacy. . .

Wow, those should be called extra mini computers.

Yeah, my Pyra will be my new phone due to privacy. . .

Using a mini computer for smartphone needs seem inefficient imo. I rarely shut down my phone completely, whereas I almost always shut down my laptop if I'm not using it. Also, isn't Pyra a bit oversized to be at your pockets all the time?

    GPD WIN 2

On a sidenote : I've never seen Steam installing a game, it's finished as soon as it's downloaded. Still, I'm having trouble understanding what are we arguing against in the first place. It should be clear by now that Pyra is a BIG no for the majority of Steam users. It just won't run anything...

Is everyone really OK with 2 batteries? How are they going to handle it? I personally haven't seen any other portable computer or phone do that.

    GPD WIN 2

Yup, maybe I shouldn't have talked about it before doing any research Wow, that would be the ultimate GPD Win killer...

    GPD WIN 2

Well, certainly not in "every case" but it would be a shame if a Linux user were to choose GPD Win over Pyra. Btw totally unrelated, net neutrality is gone, apparently.

I think the CPU does support Linux out of the box but I'm not really sure, I've read it somewhere else.

What is your favourite part of the Pandora legend?

I'm pretty much like you, a newcomer to the community but for me, the Pandora was everything I dreamt of. The thought of a phone-sized device doing everything a computer can just blew my mind. In fact, my story is a bit weird. I had this thing for mobile computers back when I was at 6th grade...
