Hmmm... I'll have to follow those instructions and have another do at a linux compile, last time I tried that though it killed the OS install on my SD card :) . Ginge is Ok but what's the point of a Pandora BBC emulator without the keyboard ?
...well Atari have the complete D&D package on sale at the moment :
http://www.atari.com/buy-games/action-adventure-fighting-rpg-strategy/dungeons-amp-dragons-anthology-master-collection
$5 (plus a bit extra for extended download for the next 2 years but as long as you don't lose the link...
Well it wouldn't let me login, so pretty badly then ;)
Lots of fun huh ?
Yeah I know we can run the Wiz emulator via ginge but it kind of defeats the object of having a physical keyboard there below my screen.
As per the title did anyone ever get anywhere with Beeb emulation ? I had a look at the *nix version of BeebEm over at this site, tried compiling it on my Pandora using my SD boot disk, several levels of dependency hell later my Pandora wasn't accepting my login anymore
So anyone...
Can't see any sign of swelling on my battery I just assumed that the case screw had stripped slightly (can happen in any device). I may have to unglue my handy work soon anyway (not difficult, it really was only a dab of sticky stuff) as the pandora has started to display the dreaded purple...
Mine did the case separating thing in the same place (although I didn't notice any battery problems). I just glued it back (carefully) into place, haven't had any problems since.
How about some brief tutorials to show how easy (or otherwise ;) ) some common tasks are ? Including some links in the wiki to the vids would make these a useful intro for new Pandora owners when they get one. Things like putting the OS on SD and booting from it, downloading and installing...
Got to agree with Craig here the Amiga had so many games across so many genres, even with the lists you've got there I still don't think I've seen some of the below mentioned :
Populous
Powermonger
F1 Grand Prix
The whole Infocoms text adventures series (nice once the keyboard is mapped)
F-29...
Appears in the April issue (subscriber copy dropped through my door this morning), fairly general piece :
"Pandora Launches handheld console - Another attempt to build an open source, open standard gaming device - After three years of development, the Pandora gaming handheld is apparently ready...
Well you do realise that if this was Apple at this point there simply wouldn't be any wifi in it and OpenPandora would be telling how much wifi was overrated and that you didn't need it anyway ? Well not until the spanky new Pandora 2 appeared in 6 months time ;)
*cough 3G on the original...
One game ?
You're really going to make me choose between SWOS on a amiga emulator and Elite on the BBC emulator ?
Well we'll go with Elite as it makes better use of the keyboard.
Don't know how feasible it would be but the Pandora seems a perfect home for BackTrack (http://Remote-Exploit.org. It's a Linux distro based around security and penetration testing apps, one of the guys over there was getting very excited a while back about having a eeePC as a portable pen...
